One of the benefits of my find-the-mole challenge, which the DUmmies failed of course) was that I got to know several of the other DU moles. I had already known most of them off-site at other message boards, but I had never interacted with them on the island of lunacy known as DU. We discovered that there are four very prominent DUmmies who are actually moles. We asked these 4 if they would be willing to go through a find-the-mole challenge much like the one that I had going a week or two ago. At first, they were against the idea. They had spent so much time climbing to the top of the DUmmie pile that they didn't want it go to waste. After much discussion we convinced them that, if caught, the challenge of trying to rescale those same heights would also be thrilling. They finally agreed. So now the find-the-mole challenge 2 is about to go into full swing.
The rules are simple:
You can call out the suspected individual in a thread or in a PM and ask if he/she is a mole. The individual, if he/she is one of the four big name moles, will answer honestly and will not return to DU until after the November election.
As before, I will give you some hints:
1. This group of four is not all of the same gender. I won't tell you how many males or females make up the group. Only that there is at least one of each.
2. This group of four has been around for a while. I won't say the dates as that would make things too easy.
3. This group, individually, has very high post counts. I won't say high how, but just know that in a place like DU where post counts matter, each of these individuals is a DUers DUer.
4. At least one of the group of four pretends to have influence in a certain area.
5. At least one of the group pretends to be very well off.
6. At least one of the group pretends to support all sort of left-wing causes.
7. At least two in the group has on a few occasions made subtle comments that really weren't all that supporting of your lord and savoir 0.
8. On occasion, individual members of the group have been made fun of here on CC.
I'll also give you some info on individuals who are NOT a member of this four mole team.
Skinner nor his two flunkies are a part of the group.
CalPeg is not one of the group.
WeeWilliePitt is not part of the group.
OmaSquall_Steve is not part of the group.
And finally, Spooked911 is all yours and not part of the group.
So there you have it. The contest begins at 6:00 am Wednesday and continues until 6:00 pm Friday. You have almost three days to show the world how intelligent you are and that you can outsmart those wascally weepublicans.

It should be interesting. They couldn't find my mole, but I was only one person. Now they have multiple targets. If they are as smart as they claim they should be able to pick out at least one of the four, and we'll see that they are indeed as smart as the claim they are. Then again, they may fail again and once more prove to the world that they are no where near as smart as they claim to be.

Since the moles must be assumed to be more or less normal humans, wouldn't that limit them to two (at most three) genders?

As for the genders of the four moles, in their real lives they are either male or female like normal humans. As part of my agreement with the four I'm not allowed to say what gender/sexual preference that they are pretending to be on DU because it may give away too much info. That's what makes this contest unique.
Think about it. Despite all of their claims of intellectual brilliance, as far as I know, the DUmp has only whacked two kinds of moles. The first is a mole that is blatantly obvious because he/she wants to be caught (suicide run) or is very inexperienced at acting insane. The second is basically a non-mole. A person who is a genuine liberal/DUer who just happened to have a few brief moments of clarity and posted something contrary to the hive mind. In essence, the mole hunts by the DUmmies have only caught real DUers and a small handful of real moles who obviously labeled themselves as moles.
The four moles in this contest are different. They really do not want to get caught. While the four have agreed to give the DUmmies clues the clues will be very subtle. The DUmmies will need to intently read each post by the moles very carefully to see the clues, but the clues will be there. The DUmmie that is able to catch any of the four really will be able to label him/her/itself as more intelligent than the rest of the DU pack.
One last thing, I've had something to come up that will probably keep me away from the computer for a while. Possibly until Friday morning. Each of the group of four and the handful of other moles involved with this are supposed to do a screen capture if any of the DUmmies catch one of the four; however, I'd like any of you guys who frequent DU to do the same if you see it happen. The DUmp's first real capture of a real mole is important and I don't want to chance it being missed.

You're probably right, and it was briefly mentioned by someone. I was just afraid that the four involved would change their minds between now and then. I guess we could have waited and used other moles if they changed their minds, but due to the prominence of these four it wouldn't really be the same. If the DUmmies are too stupid to catch them this time the four may be willing to renew the contest in October.

Since the DUmmies were not successful at capturing the four high post count moles they have all agreed to extend the challenge through the weekend until Sunday at 6 pm. They have required one change in the rules. For here on out they will only confess if confronted on the DU board. Not PMs. Apparently, that was supposed to be the rules from the start, and I apologize to the moles. Also, one of them, after much convincing on my part, has agreed to allow me to give a clue to the DUmmies.
I'm not allowed to mention the mole's gender, but I can say that the mole's user name begins with a consonant that is near the end of the alphabet AND ends with a different consonant that is near the end of the alphabet. This mole's post count is nearer to 50,000 than 40,000. This mole says he/she will be enraged if he/she is discovered by the DUmmies but will honor the promise to cease posting at DU; however, he/she is sure that the DUmmies will not guess correctly as he/she is only pretending to be a DUmmie while they are the real thing. By the way, this particular mole is brilliant in his/her portrayal of a DUmmie and is the mole that surprised me the most when I learned the truth.
All four of the moles have also agreed to let me reveal that none of them is nadin.

The mole has allowed my to give more clues, but only for the mole previously mention. Also keep in mind that although I do come up with the clues myself I am required to let the mole review the clues before I post them here. The other three moles still want to refrain from giving any clues.
This mole has made the top twenty of our DUmmie of the Year award on at least one occasion. If you were to meet this mole on the street or in the pub you would find him/her polite and enjoyable which is a vast difference from the character the mole plays on DU. The name this mole uses on DU has more than one syllable. This particular mole has gotten a bit more brave in allowing me to post clues. When I ask why, this was the response… My mole is a DUmmie's DUmmie. I have so much DU street cred that none of them would ever think of me as a mole. To the DUmmies DU street cred is as important as politics, sex, and drugs.

OK, I'm going to agree with the guess the others made in PM's because of something you said in the newest clue.
Can I just ask, this particular mole you're talking about, this person is a conservative acting like he's a regressive? whereas the other moles are normal Democrats acting like whacked regressives?

Based on my previous conversation with mole in question, he/she is conservative. Hard line on some issues. More soft on others. I may get in trouble for saying this because I haven't cleared it with the mole, but he/she says that playing a character that is completely opposite politically hasn't really been difficult. Nor is it difficult pretending to be a character that normal people view as crazy. The difficulty has come in the area of religion because he/she is extremely religious in real life and has to be the polar opposite to mole successfully.
As far as the other three moles go one is an old fashion democrat that is pissed about where the party now stands, one claims to be independent even though he/she mostly votes republican and feels more closely associated with the libertarian view, and the last says that he/she doesn't really know what he/she is anymore. He/she thought he/she was a liberal until finding DU and realizing that he/she had too many brain cells to be a DU liberal.

I think you'd be alright as long as you posted some sort of senseless stupidity. The DUmmies generally have the attention span of a young puppy. They don't really pay much attention to or remember our user names so they probably wouldn't notice. There are some exceptions. As Gipper said above, his name and Freeper's would surely cause trouble. Cavers like BEG, Bally (sometimes known at the DUmp as Cigarette Girl), frank, and a few others would immediately be noticed because various DUmmies have crushes on them.
As for the mole challenge, I'm trying to get clearance to post at least one more clue before tomorrow's deadline.

I signed up as fat Che one time I barely lasted long enough to hit the link in the verification email. :rotf:
I did sign up using the same screenname as I used at Free Republic, I posted as a conservative even and lasted about 20 posts. That was when the site was new and they hadn't decided for sure yet that it would be an echo chamber, so I may have had a hand in helping them shut out conservatives. :-)
Here is an idea I once had for a mole name that would drive them nuts, Rush Fan, and I would claim I meant the band Rush, not the radio dude. :-)

That would probably still get a pizza delivery. Rush is pretty heavily libertarian, or at least they were.
