The Times they are a changin' Some observations today getting oil changed

I always go to the dealer we got our vehicle from.

Used to, Faux snooze was the channel on the provided TV in the "lounge" The three computers provided would never go to DU but went to conservative sites.

TODAY however,

The TV was on Headline news. Not much better but better. AFter watching it for a little while, the service man came to tell me we had a nail in our back tire, but since we bought the tires there as well, they would fix it for free.

Visited the computer and first place I tried to go was DU and it came up. I cruised around for a while and read the latest news then tried to go to some conservative sites and got a blocking message saying the "rules of the network" prohibitted those particular sites.

Quite a difference!!!

Just Pam bragging she can afford to go to the dealer to get her oil changed instead of Jiffy Lube or some such . . . or horrors, doing it herself (or husband).  :whatever:

Pffffttt.  small parsnips.  My neighbor constantly had Faux Nus on his Tee Vee & it bugged the shit out of me. I know it was Faux because I could hear it when I pressed my ear to his window.  Well, I called the Sheriff & complained about my First Amendment rights.  The next evening when he got home from work and turned on the Tee Vee, the Sheriff jumped out of the bushes and clubbed him sensless. Thank Ghia for ABM and the First Amendment.

Auto dealerships do not block websites based on political ideology.  This is just the stupidest thing she's come up with yet.

To me, it shows how stupid she is to go to the dealer for that.

I see Operation Car Lot is going as planned.  Eventually, we'll switch the channel to PMSNBC and the moonbat will bring all of her moonbat friends along.  When she's not looking, we'll remove the prop cars, trap them inside and turn it into a reeducation camp! :yahoo:

I think some places with public computers use some sort of filtering software to block sites that may not be family oriented.  DU should should have remained on that block list since there is more profanity there than on many porn sites. Or so I'm told.

I have to laugh because I live in VT(one of the looniest states in the country) and our local McDonalds has Fox on 24/7 and I haven;t seen a DU type hissyfit yet.  If I ever do I'll ask them what's their DU screenname?  Actually, with all respect to DU, I should say what's there DU screenname?

I was in McDonalds last week and the TV I was sitting next to had a Billy Graham sermon on.

DU would have lost their damn mind.

Kinda makes a fellow want to build a large bore hot-rod doesn't it. You know, so you can blow tire burning rubber smoke in their windows and fog their vision.

Reminds me of something:
I saw a dude in a small foreign car and a diesel pickup dodging each other in traffic a while go. They were road raging on each other. They pulled up to a red light at an intersection but the pickup was about a car legnth ahead of the smaller car. The pickup driver revved his engine and belched a big black cloud from exhaust right into the window of the smaller car when the light turned green. Made me LMOA for the rest of my trip home.

Do auto dealerships have computers for the public to use? I doubt it, they might have free wifi, but that's it.

The Toyota dealer we bought my Sienna from does (they have about 5 of them in their very nice and spacious lounge) - and as all my oil changes are free (yeah I know, it's built into the price of the vehicle), I do go there for oil changes/tire rotations etc.

Done that a few times myself.

I have a flatbed on my Ford, with tbe exhaust pipe exiting in front of the rear tire on the right side of the truck.  IF you pull up beside me @ a traffic light, & your window is down, I WILL "powder your nose".

You really believe that?

The cursing at my local dealership when they blocked free republic but NOT DU was to behold. That customer left, permanently...

That is what I mean by PR. That person, who did not understand the first thing of the net, would have been perfectly fine if NEITHER was allowed access to.

Mine is old school, Stanadyne Roosamaster DB2 injector pump, with a stiffer governor spring and a half-turn in on the excess fuel screw.

If I bog it from a stop light, and shift to 3rd before the turbo can spool up, I can (and have) made a Prius "disappear".    :lmao:

She probably says she's been cured because of ObamaCare.  If it's overturned, she'll probably proclaim that now she will die because of the evil SCOTUS.

Beth, you're a moron.  Enjoy spending all that money on your oil changes.  I've never been inside a dealership that had computers available for their customers.  Televisions, yes, but no computers.

The ACA ruling is personal for me and a lot of people. Lives hang in the balance
The Chemical Therapy I take every six weeks has lost it's effect and my doctors are talking about the next step but the SC decision could affect further plans.

Since my DX and 8 hospital stays in the last 3 years and the successive "chemo" every 6 weeks with the additional injection to make it last longer I have almost maxed my "lifetime coverage" If that part of th ACA is struck down, it will affect the rest of my life and the "quality" of it as well.

This decision is personal for me and a LOT Of other people

I knew it!

She works for the freaking school system - she has insurance for God's sake.  And because Pam is too stupid to realize it, Obamacare and its treatment-withholding provisions will kill more people than any free market health insurance company or actually taking responsibility for yourself for own treatment would.

As is typical for most DUmmies, she doesn't consider that she needs to pay for part of her medical care - it's not free.  She'd rather spend her money on cruises, oil changes at expensive dealerships, and expensive ugly purses.

Still not buying the story, Pam.  Dealerships are small businesses, many of which were put out of business by Obama's capricious decisions during the GM bailout.  I highly doubt they're going to set their internet access to encourage going to DU, which is full of communism advocacy, porn enthusiasm, and f-bombs, and deliberately block conservative sites, which are full of decent and civilized people.

I have to vent. You guys are deluding yourselves, yipee we're going to win this election because my car dealership no longer has Fox on, and my car dealership blocks conservative sites from the free internet they provide, etc. etc. etc. Grow up and get out of your cocoon.

The Democrats may have to cancel their convention kickoff because they're out of money, why are they out of money? maybe because donations are down?

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is getting booted from her position as DNC Chairwoman, why? maybe because Democrats have lost under her tenure and donations are down?

90% of those who donated to Obama in 2008 in the amount of $200 or more haven't donated so far this election.

You have Democrats running for office who refuse to go to the convention, you had a criminal in jail in Texas almost get as many votes as Obama in 1 State, and Other almost getting as many votes as Obama in another State.

You're oblivious to the fact that unemployment is high, American incomes are down, and record numbers of people are dependent on social service programs, almost 50 million on food stamps isn't an accomplishment.

You tell yourselves that if Obama loses it's because of racism and voter fraud, stop lying to yourselves, your extreme ideology is only adhered to by a minority in this Country, the sane amongst the rest have had enough.

You talk the talk but you don't walk the walk, you want a socialist utopia? there are a number of Countries out there that will fulfill your dreams, look into it, but you won't because you want to drag everyone else down with you. Progressivism is an angry hateful ideology, instead of bringing everyone up it drags everyone down.

And read the book that's #1 on the NY Times best sellers list, The Amateur, and see how your fellow Democrats feel about The One known as Obama, in particular read the section about the Kennedy's, what an eye opener that was. I'm about halfway through the book and my feelings have just been reinforced about Obama, he's a user, and when he gets what he wants he's done with people who've helped him. I do admit though that it was amusing when it came to the Kennedy's, they were just as egotistical as Obama, they're used to being fawned over, but Obama dissed them, just like he dissed Daley, and all these blacks who brought him to prominence in Chicago.

PMS rant over!
