On Taxes and Greece

One of the common talking points, even here, is that the Greek people simply want services but DO NOT pay their taxes.

Well, here is the thing, some GREEK citizens do not pay their fair share of taxes and have not done so for decades.

Yes, punking the government goes down a little farther in the economic order than in the US... but while there are SOME greek citizens that do not pay their taxes... I am proof positive most of you are astute enough to guess which group we are talking about?

So it is like it has always been... the group that refuses to pay taxes skates scott free, while the common folks, who may be able to skirt some, but not enough suffer.

(Yes in the corruption scale Greece is above the US, and that includes skirting taxes)

Damn evil rich people don't want to finance people retiring at the age of 40. Greedy bastards.  :-)

As usual the DUmmies miss the real lesson of Greece. The government can not supply the needs of every person without eventually running out of money.

1. And the people that want their Bush/Obama tax cuts are going to put us all....

...in the same position.

How about you taking care of yourself Kentuck instead of demanding that the taxpayer hand you everything on a golden platter? I know the expression is silver platter, but the DUmmies are so greedy that anything less than gold will not be enough.

4. I would bet that the public servants who received their pay in checks There's another way??
from the government and therefore could not hide their income, paid all their taxes. After as many deductions as they could dream up Yet many of them lost their jobs.

Same here. Teachers and other public employees pay their taxes. As do all other private sector employees. In fact, their taxes are taken out of their paychecks the same as in the private sector, so they can't choose not to pay taxes. We can choose? Yet they are being fired and replaced by cheap help. Better yet, don't replace them at all.
JDDUmbass must not have ever worked a day in its life. Doesn't have a clue what a W-2 is. :rotf:

Anyone want to remind them that Jackie Kennedy, former wife of JFK, married one of those Greek tax dodgers?  I mean, Aristotle Onassis didn't live on a boat sailing the Mediterranian and never landing in a Greek port just because he could.  He avoided setting foot in Greece for a reason.

Look--the company that makes the latest helmets for the Army, and the company that makes the latest helmets for the NFL, collaborated on this (the NTH).  Their profits will be tax-free, so they agreed to split them.  Teh Rove put out that info in Message 333-7B%$!4, which you should have decrypted by now. :fuelfire:
