Have I wandered onto a comedy site?

I smell the smoke of desperation here guys. Seriousl, don't you find this idea a tad arrogant?
However, it is great blog material. Thanks.

This is a joke, right?

Good day everyone. I am back from my time off in fun beautiful Miami. I had the honor of meeting our own GOSAL. She was soo kind to us and treated us so dearly. She is an amazing person, and I couldn't be prouder of being a friend. Staying at the Viceroy was mad cool. Got to relax at Spa, and amazing steam room, gym. Then met up with my old girl who was performing at a club. Just a total blast. I have to get ready to go to LA for a possible job, but I loved Miami. Just can't wait to head back!
Hope you are all well!

You went on vacation when you could have donated the money? Disgusting.
Actually, this whole site ispretty stomach turning. Tacky, clueless, and classless.

I'm being punked, right? This is the most outrageous idea in the history of campaign fundraising.
So his reelection should somehow be so important to me that I should forgo wedding presents so he can just have the cash instead.
I mean seriously, what next? Do you want me to take out a margin loan on my 401k?
Danielle Schaeffer
This is the tackiest thing I've ever seen. You NEVER even MENTION gifts to your guests... you certainly do not ASK for 'anything' and you most certainly don't ask them for something so 'specific.' Whose brilliant idea was this? Is the President of the United States really THIS lacking in 'social graces'? I am appalled.

This reeks of desperation. BTW, I loved Nixon, I hate that people are comparing Obama to him.

First they came for our money, then they came for our health care, and then they came for our wedding presents...

Seriously? Who's bright idea was this? This looks rather...desperate.

1. I think it's a great idea.
I gave both my husband and sister gifts from the barackobama/store. I often give contributions to charities as gifts. My bday is November 4th and my anniversary is Oct. 31st, both too close to the election to matter. Otherwise, I'd sign up. Hell, it'd be fun to tweak some of my Republican friends and relatives.

2. yea, such a horrible thing to have Obama gear during election year
I think it is cool. I already have two Hi-ball glasses, a progress shirt and got my daughter an Obama coffee travel mug.
If my birthday were before the election, beg, I would absolutely register!

3. Wow, just wow!
I get home to find that 3 different conservative friends had emailed me about this registry and were laughing at me about it. And look at the comments about it. Hardly supportive of the idea. It appears pretty desperate and cheesy to me as well.
The DUmp has a thread on it:

:o Caught it just in time!
HEY PAM. If you would get out of the hive, you'd be able to see that your preezy is a national laughingstock over this, this afternoon.

I'm absolutely ****ing speechless. I cannot WAIT to see what a fun field day will be had with this. Has Twitter exploded yet, Bally?

I so  Twitter! :lmao:
This is the latest in fundraising gimmicks being deployed by both Obama and Mitt Romney, who have conducted lotteries so supporters can spend a day on the trail with the candidates or attend special events like a recent fundraiser hosted by actress Sarah Jessica Parker for the president.
Obama and Romney are locked in a battle for campaign dollars as well as votes. Romney and the Republican National Committee raised more money than Obama and his Democratic allies in May.
Apparently, one of the Trending Topics over there is #NoPantyDay. Here's what one of the tweets there said:

7. I don't have a problem with this
But it seems you have to pretty much ensure that ALL your guests are Obama supporters. Things like this start family wars.
The RW nutcases are getting steamed about this as we speak.
Prediction: This will be HUGH in the coming week.
:o
I am in awe. I mean I'm freaking impressed. The Obamas actually out-tackyed the Clintons.

Almost 4000 comments have been removed. Why not just take down the entire Registry. By now you must see it is a complete failure. My daughter is a democrat and thinks this is a terrible idea.
You are 2 months to late for my wedding. I did get a gaudy family tree wall hanging thing. Can I drop it off at a field office? You could sell it on craigslist!
I just checked in -- some new fun comments:
Dear Leader will NOT be mocked!
No in-kind gifts -- move along...
Your avatar pic looks exactly like a person I know (and Norm is the type who would wear that shirt).

The comments here show that the teabaggers are only interested in tearing down our president. Mr Obama, it's time to step up and do what you know needs doing... 1) Cancel the election now, we can not afford as a nation to spend 2+ Billion dollars on an election which we all know Obama will easily Win. the repub teabaggers have no chance to win anyways. Their only goal is to destroy our country and our president. 2) confiscate the hundreds of million that the traitors have sent to their superPacs only to damage our President and our constitution. we can use this money as a down payment on our debt. If they complain, give them pink underwear and put them into a tent in the desert.
Go Obama 2012!!!
An update for my favorite thread. Amongst the hundreds of comments now saying, "thanks for great idea and inspiration! I'm having a party and we're all sending a donation to Romney" there is a lone post that is pure DemocraticUnderground:
Or maybe it's a mole.
Someone gave themselves the moniker "gravyboat." :lmao: I thought it was funny.
They've had to delete 4,000 comments. You'd think they'd just scrap the idea and take it down. I guess not. Whoever's running it must be just like Pam, who stubbornly believes it to be a sterling idea. Pun intended.
Would that be a sterling gravyboat?
