I would have told you who the hell is she to decide that people can keep a hunk of what they earn? I would also tell you that those evil businesses already pay more than enough to make up for whatever you think they leeched off of everyone else.
Odds are if you really did shut up a right winger they realized that it wasn't worth the time to try to argue, since you wouldn't listen anyway.

Nowhere in our governing document, the Constitution of the United States, is there mention of "a social contract." The USC is the instantiaiton of and IS the contract between the government, the citizen, and each other.
The words of squaw-with-high-cheeks are not even the beginning of an argument winner. The answer is the government is supposed to provide infrastructure and we pay taxes to support that infrastructure. Even-steven. How about you who don't pay any taxes? Where is your contribution to the infrastructure? If you didn't pay for the roads, education etc. does that mean, by your own argument, you don't get to use them?
