Hummmm, reminds me of this:

In one Dutch Oven (of course!) sear the sausages (in the bottom), add a dozen small red potatoes, quartered, one white onion, chopped (or sliced, matches the texture of the 'kraut), add S&P to taste, top with Sauerkraut (Steinfelds or any barrel style) so it completely covers the ingredients, then pour a dark beer over it. Simmer over the fire, covered, for 45 min, or until the potatoes are soft/cooked and the Kraut sweetens.

Those might be good in this??

Also if you add green peppers it is really good to the mix
