Wal-Mart Sends Fake ‘Reporter’ From Elite Lobbying Firm To Spy On Warehouse Workers

Stephanie Harnett, Wal-Mart's "reporter" spy

Wal-Mart is America’s biggest corporation. It’s also one of the country’s worst union busters, so it’s hardly a surprise that it engages in under-handed tactics to get its way with its workers and with America’s politicians.

But a story out of Southern California is particularly shocking.

Stephanie Harnett, Wal-Mart's "reporter" spy

Warehouse Workers United (WWU), a new organization for warehouse workers in the area, caught Wal-Mart actually sending a fake “reporter” to spy on a group of workers trying to organize warehouses.

At first, the spy identified herself as “Zoe Mitchell,” a USC student “interested in terrible and illegal conditions inside warehouses that move goods for Walmart.” She told warehouse workers that she was a reporter looking into their plight
Yo, stupid, it's called quality control. Been there for decades. Y'all just fall off the turnip wagon, or what?

2. i'll kick that. capital routinely spies on labor, conducts provovation & entrapment, in order to
deny basic rights.
...or check that their employees are providing needed services to customers.

...But a union shop, especially a public employee union shop such as the post office would never do that..

-To those that don't know, the postal inspectors are literally 'in the walls' if they feel there may be cause for concern, watching and filming someone or a group of people. Sometimes for months if necessary.

Why is that, primitives ?

Let me guess, they think unions are pure as the driven snow.

One of my older cousins used to brag about some of the tactics unions used to unionize shops that didn't want to organize or had not previously felt the need for it.  He talked about getting provocateur hired that would then cause problems between union and management.  He talked about using intimidation and blackmail at a business where the workers were narrowly opposed to the union.  I was young back when he showed up at family gatherings.  I wish I would have listened closer.

Walmart owns the damn company.  I would spy too if I thought a bunch of lazy ass employees were screwing off instead of working.  DUH!

Unions suck donkey balls.  Ha!  they do! Democrat's mascot is an ass  :lmao:

I'm just glad that OS has recovered from his crushing defeat & has moved on.  What do you suppose he plans to actually do about this grave injustice?

Given his past track record, I would hazard that he isn't going to do a damn thing.

The Socialist is a "talker" not a "doer", actually in my grandfather's parlance OS is a caboose not a locomotive.

He would make more from that than he did scamming his campaign donors.

Company I used to work for contracted a company to send in a "customer" at least once a month to review various sections of the store.

This customer would purchase an item / ask predetermined questions and then write a review to forward to our boss and the head office.

I had my turn and failed miserably. Granted the queue to get to my office was about 10 deep and we were trying to clear a huge backlog of repairs out so I was somewhat abrupt when answering a bunch of questions that were rather idiotic.

Restaurant business has had these for years. They are called "shoppers". Big long form they filled out. Time of order to food recieved, cleanliness of the dining area, bathrooms, etc.

One of my best friends works at the post office. He's black like me, in protest of the current administration. He once pointed out to me that all the security cameras at the post office were pointed inwards, or otherwise at workers or worker stations. Once I looked closely, and darned if he wasn't right. Several morals to the story.

I have both a friend and a family member who work as secret shoppers.  I was also routinely "secret shopped" in a customer service job I once had.  It's an established way of improving services and products, and helps to cull employees who aren't really into doing their jobs well.
