2. What sector?
Two friends of mine from University have been laid off from their teaching jobs in Ohio. No money for a Special Education teacher or first grade teacher in their budget.
I'm guessing your friends don't work in Wisconsin.
Because Wisconsin hasn't had to lay-off any teachers.

5. Exactly
The school district here let go 25 teachers and aides. They eliminated tenure in 2008, haven't had any raises since, and just announced all raises are postponed indefinitely.
My guess is that the increase in unemployment is from the public sector. Of course, the media will never say that.
Allow me to introduce to you the only people in the world who actually believe, "The private sector is doing fine."

The Chicagao teachers are demanding a 24% raise. That will get a good chink of them laid off if they get it.
Just remember it is always for the children and never for the greedy teachers unions.

Technically that is not true. Any district that used ACT 10 reforms did not have to lay-off any teachers. Districts like Milwaukee and Madison that pushed to sign contracts before ACT 10 passed had to lay off teachers. They could have waited but the unions ****ed over their newer members and the districts ****ed over the tax payers by ramrodding the contracts through.
