Think about it:
You wake up in the middle of the night to thick smoke...you call 911...nobody comes or, more likely, the operator tells you to get yourself, your kids, your elderly mother and your pets out of the house because responders are spread so thin that they can't get to you for 30 minutes.
You wake up in the middle of the night and realize that someone is in your house... you call 911...the operator puts you on hold.
You wake up in the middle of the night with chest pains...you call 911...EMT's are on a call elsewhere and there is no coverage.
Your kid comes home from school and tells you that he hasn't been called on in months because his class is so big...says he hasn't had a word with his overwhelmed teacher since the beginning of the school year.
Now, Mitt Romney "resides" in Belmont, Massachusetts, one of the wealthest towns in the state and probably in the country. They will fund all the police and firefighters they want because they have the money. It does not matter if other less well off communities are bleeding. And when they rush Mitt to one of the Boston hospitals, there will be no waiting for hours to be seen like the rest of us.
Oh, and schools...even the wealthy Belmont public school system wasn't good enough for Mitt's kids. He sent them to the Belmont Hill School, a private school about a block from his home...know for its small classes and personal attention.
Mitt, you supercillious empty suit...you know NOTHING, NOTHING about the lives of real Americans.
Yes, mommy dearest, Mitt Romney should be flayed alive for not demanding the Federal Government get more involved in State and Local Municipal issues. :whatever:

Karl Marx wrote it's business model "From each according to his abilities; to each according to his needs." The more your property is worth, the higher your property taxes. And they won't send a truck out unless you have a fire or other emergency.
Just pointing out that in a very loose sloppy sense, all public goods are "socialist." Not that the wingers have a clue what the word means--it's just a snarl word for them.
You're right, DUmmie, it is a very "loose" and "sloppy" idea that the things that make life civilized are somehow or another tied to marxist idealism.

Looks like the town of Ringe has a volunteer fire department. And in an unrelated coincidence Mama Pitt was listed directly under the Fire Department.
Mama Pitt better not be too vocal at the local market. Folk from away generally don't get great service if they piss off the locals. Could just be the volunteer's would finish up the weekly meeting before manning the trucks to head on over to her house fire. Just sayin.

I live in the "boonies", plus we have a volunteer FD. BEST response time to my house from the nearest fire station is 15 minutes. I wouldn't have to have some 911 operator to tell me to "get my stuff and get out", I have enough sense to do that one myself, DUmbass!

I wake up in the middle of the night, realize someone is in my house, ventilate them with several 9mm rounds (my S&W holds 16), then call 911. Cops couldn't get to me any faster if the perp was alive or dead, though they prefer them DRT (Dead Right There). Less paperwork.

No problem here, we have 2 ambulance services, one volunteer, one for-profit. They can be here in 10 minutes, or I can be at the hospital in 10 minutes myself.

Governor Romney has a house on the lake not far from where I live.
He pays over $150K/year in property taxes. The community in which he lives has one of the lowest tax rates in the state. That can be attributed in no small measure to outsiders who own property on the lake.
I know my co-worker is grateful.

In the People's Paradise of Madison WI, a young girl in the process of being murdered managed a 911 call on her cell and the county's 911 center botched the call. There is no evidence the young girl would have been saved if the dispatcher had sent the police but the police may have had a better chance to catch the perp.
For two years after that, the 911 call center, run out of the Dane County board by Kathleen Falk to helped unions waist $5 million on her recall primary, was still not up to standard and The Kathleen refused to ever talk about it.
That is what the compassion of Marxism looks like.

Raven, you ****ing idiot! You just described exactly my situation. I live in the country and thus have to be responsible for myself. Houses are spread too far for there to be a fire department in everyone's backyard and a cop on every street. I can take care of myself.
And Raven, for a trust fund bitch you sure are an idiot...or maybe it's because you've been coddled and pampered your whole life that you don't know how the real world works. Fire departments have absolutely nothing to do with socialism or communism. They are voted on by the community and paid for by our property taxes that we agree to pay. Local government is completely different than the federal government. There are things we AS A COMMUNITY agree to share the cost for to make the community better. These can include libraries, parks, fire departments, etc. Heck, our fire department is almost all volunteers. They do it willingly and don't expect 0bama to pay for them out of his stash.
Sometimes I can't believe how damn stupid you guys are. Seriously, it's like you have NO clue how the world works. No wonder you want daddy government to run your life for you. Think about it yourself. Stupid bitch. You remind me of my guineas. They're butt ugly and stupid. It's hard to believe they survived the dodo. They make excellent watch dogs but any little thing sets them off. The wind blows a branch down, they don't know what the hell happened and start squawking like the world is coming to an end. They'll have clutch of keets and get so busy chatting and running around, they forget where they left them. Unless I go around behind them and collect the little things they die. Same thing probably happened to Wee Willy, huh? That would explain a lot. My guineas may be stupid and ugly but at least they earn their keep and are useful...they eat ticks, fleas, mosquitoes and wasps. That's more than I can say about you...even the knowledge you try to impart is wrong and the points you try to make to show you're oh so smart just scream "look at me make a fool of myself trying to be profound!" You must have to work at it to be that stupid.
