Title: Obama loses in November. Speculation. What will a lame duck do?
Post by: Mr Mannn on June 11, 2012, 07:44:05 PM
I'm of the opinion that when he loses, Obama will find a way to punish America.
BUT. he won't have a rubber stamp congress, thanks to the tea party.

I'm positive he will do something nasty...more likely many things. He can't sign a treaty by himself, and I doubt the democrat senate will help him there.

What can a lame duck president do, outa spite?

He can wreak a lot of havoc through executive orders and by having his agency appointees make more rules and regulations to screw over people.

Outgoing presidents usually pardon or commute the sentences of a lot of unsavory characters. Billy Jeff/Marc Rich, for example. I can't recall offhand who GWB pardoned, but the most egregious example I can think of stems solely from Billy Jeff.

It will be much worse if he wins reelection.

Obama believes the most important issue of second term is climate change. (http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2012/06/obama_believes_the_most_important_issue_of_second_term_is_climate_change.html#ixzz1xV8haoRE)

Look for more economy and job killing laws, rules and regulations.

I think Obama would be spiteful and vindictive, can he sign Executive Orders up the wazoo? and can a Republican President reverse them?

OMG! can you imagine him pardoning Mumia Abu-Jamal, the poster thug for the left?

Could he order the release of all prisoners at Gitmo?

Maybe he issue a pardon for Amanda Bynes.  :lmao:

I fear he will start another war in the M.E. and wreak havoc on the private sector by new regulations and exec. orders.

The climate has already changed. Not the hopey changey kind of change either.

Taxes are set to go back up on 1/1/2013.  Even if Congress passes legislation to extend the "Bush tax cuts" another 2 years, it's unlikely to make it past the Senate, and unless the top two brackets get nailed, Obama would veto it anyway.

Exec Orders, IIRC, only last the President's term in office.  What has historically happened is the incoming President pencil-whips approval to those he wants and have been in long-standing effect.

Not necessarily.

But any successor can undo them as easily as they're written.

I'm concerned Obama will get bratty and petulant going into the election especially as the polls line up against him. Case in point: the DoJ is suing FL to stop purging democrat zombies. I can see Prince Barry trying to A) pull the usual voter shenanigans and if that fails B) leave a spiteful pall of doubt over Rmoney's presidency.

Our saving grace will be 1) he will have so many setbacks before then (the AZ immigration ID check, ObamaCoup, etc) no one will believe Obama lost just because of FL and 2) these people are too incompetent to get what they want (Solyndra, F&F, the Stimulus).
