Glenn Beck signs $100 million radio contract
Source: msnbc.com

Glenn Beck will remain a force in radio for at least five more years. The conservative firebrand has inked a new five-year, $100 million deal with Clear Channel's Premiere Networks. The pact, roughly double the size of the previous five-year deal he signed in 2007, is a vote of confidence for the syndicated "Glenn Beck Program," which regularly lures 10 million listeners a week.

The morning show, behind only to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity's radio programs in typical audience size, is carried by more than 400 stations. Since "The Glenn Beck Program's" official launch in early 2002, Beck has used the mutliple-hour format to peddle all part of the Beck brand, from books to Web shows to comedy events.

The news, first reported by The New York Times, comes about a year after Beck signed off on his popular if ever-controversial Fox News show. In the months since, he has continued to grow his subscription-based Internet-only network, GBTV, which a recent Wall Street Journal article estimated would bring in at least $40 million in revenue this year.

we have too much freedom of speech.

Only a true liberal could have came up with that one.

My reply is that the 2nd Amendment is too weak. We need more freedoms in its application.

DUmmies have two extremes. Either they dropped out of school in the 6th grade or they have 6 advanced degrees, are 50 years old and have never had a steady job. Either way, they do not reach their earning potential.

This from someone who doesn't realize that this is for a radio contract.

I love it.

I wonder what they would say if Ed Shultz signed a deal like that? Oh wait, Ed doesn't have a tenth of the audience that Beck does, so that will never happen.

*facepalm*

On a more optimistic note, they must think Obama's going to win. What on earth would he rant about otherwise?

Yeah because we all know from 2001 through 2009 there was no market for conservatives on the air with a repuke president.  :whatever:

I've cooled to him lately too.  But, he got me to do some serious reading to edigumacate myself & for that I am grateful.  As to the $100 mil, it lifts my soul to see the gut wrenching rage & mind twisting envy on the island.

Check out Mercury One you dolts.  Here I'll post the link: LINK (http://www.mercuryone.org/)

He is doing a lot of things behind the DUmmies backs. He is hiring musicians to record music, producers to make movies, brought tons of jobs to Texas, has his GBTV streaming channel that streams more than just his show and he still has people in New York working for him.  Has a news site called The Blaze.  Writes books that actually sell.  Has one of the top talk radio shows. He has donation drives that feeds people, a LOT of people.

He also started a clothing line called 1791 that makes the clothes here in the US by an organizaton called American MoJo, also known as Moms and Jobs. American MoJo is a newly formed clothing venture, headquartered in Boston. Their goal is “to address the issues facing mothers who are poverty-stricken. By providing freedom from the strain of daycare costs and a new career path for this underserved demographic, MoJo enables a new start for moms who desperately need it.”

Again, like Rush, Beck does much more than any of you DUmmies and any of your "leaders" combined. What has Olbermann, Maddow, Schulz, Mahar, etc done for the country?  How have they helped everyday people besides spreading your propaganda?  What jobs have they created besides their own?

He and Stu are freaking hilarious when they start dissecting statements and speeches by "The One"!

Millions of people don't have the talent that Beck does in his chosen field.  Put your average burger flipper in front of the mic and tell him to keep people entertained for 3-4 hours a day 5 days a week for weeks on end and they'd go nuts after the first show.

He provides something to the people that they want to listen to...advertisers see this and buy advertisements for their products on his show becuase MILLIONS of people listen to him.

Clear Channel/Premiere makes a profit from Mr. Beck's services...and they reward him in kind.

Free market economics at it's finest.

And a concept that is lost and foreign to all of the DUmmies but the three that run the DUmp.

They think that the equipment to broadcast the show, the callers who call in, and the $100 million just magically appear out of thin air.

Simple case of supply and demand...Public demands and Glenn supplies...to the tune of a $100 million over a 4 year period. You know, soon he'll be making some real money. :-)

The minute I see you bitching about this, ill buy your outrage. But, it's not gonna happen, is it ? Because you know that a whole bunch of that money went to bankroll Obama.

And to repeat, this is earning in a single year, not over five years. And during those five years, Beck will be on the air five days a week, less vacations and sick time, and while off air, he will be researching topics for his show. In other words, Beck will be working harder for less than the top ten celebrities listed above.

Yeah, unfortunately it is still around. I never watch that station. It flat out sucks. Al Gore is losing so much money on it that it surprised me that he keeps it going.
