Oy, all the crap that I carry in that vest!!!!
So my shooting vest needed to be washed... yup, it is a tad on the smelly side... yup, has been intensely used since I got it.
So I started digging crap out of it.
Notebooks... not one, several... DUH
Pens (and I could not find a one yesterday, now that was bad... but I just pulled about ten of them)
Extra camera body and batteries (the tough 610)
Ok I was wondering where I put my earphones... found them
Recorder
Food/ energy bars
Oh yes and batteries.
Since lenses live in camera bag unless going out, and the sleeve is right now in the other vest (hubby's)
Oh and yes, a cleaning cloth for the lens.
Oy, no wonder the damn thing is heavy.
My press badge usually lives in it, but hung it with the keys last night.
All the crap one carries is just plain out amazing...

I can see Nad's underlying purpose here. She wants to reinforce that she's a real reporter and not a pretend one.
But real reporters have two things in common:
1) they are not surprised by the contents of real reporter vests
2) unlike Nads their vests don't smell of BO, sweat and urine.
Real reporters will WASH their vests. Its all part of that professional reporter thing.
But most of all, real reporters don't have to tell everyone that they are real reporters.
She has been hanging out in the photography forum lately, posting her horrible photos.
:whatever:

She's got like $20 worth of random crap and a wally*world tape recorder in there and has to brag abut it ?
I'm still trying to work out the part about the spare "Camera Body" - but chances are fairly good she's talking about an Olympus 610 digital camera. Hardly a "camera body" and a long , long way from being professional hardware.
What an idiot.
You know, I've rarely heard people who take the best photographs talking about their "gear," and if they do, it's just to give some technical details, not to gloat that it's the biggest or most expensive or state-of-the-art.
nadin reminds me of people who have the latest sort of motor vehicle--or some special-purpose vehicle--and then think it makes them a good driver.
All skill emanates from the person, not the "gear."
I think nadin's full of shit when it comes to cameraology.
More laughs.
There is a cool thing about this shot

On the ridge line, you can see fire personnel sky lined. Those are TREES you bloody idiot!!
**pic of far distant ridge line**
One of mine today... it sucked, Nads
I'm sure the firefighters appreciated that very much. :lmao:
3. San Diego
Lakeside to be specific...
We had a very small, 12 acre burn, and the structure that was threatened was saved due to owner giving firefighters breeding space, aka a clear zone and plenty of retardant from the sky.
I hope nads doesn't decide to look for a big scoop at Lion Country Safari!

Did find a thread where Nads fessed up. The good rig is a Nikon D300. 12mp crop-sensor.
Introduced, 2007.
Actually, a very capable camera along the lines of the Canon 50D.
I have a bad hunch she went el-cheapo on the glass, and the unit's potential will not be seen.

I'm still wondering why hubby hasn't kicked her to the curb. Seriously.
That photo had very poor composition, and nothing of interest, no focal point.Very true. Anybody with even basic skills would not, have included the sign in the image.
Oh dear god !Not to worry. Nads hasn't a clue how to use it.
It's time for me to upgrade my camera then.
Can't be having the same "good rig" as nutso nadin.
I had a Brownie camera as a kid that took better pics than Nad's "good rig" . . .That was my first camera, too. :cheersmate:

Me too.
I find it very difficult to believe a man who once bore so much solemn responsibility would put up with a wife who makes him look stupid by association.
I'm not as sure as I used to be, but I'm still sort of sure Tom has no idea what nadin's up to.
He's getting credit on her latest garbage, maybe he thinks he can ride the nadin train to fame and fortune. http://eastcountymagazine.org/search/node/Nadin%20Abbott
Thanks for the link. I've been asking if she actually published somewhere. Now I find she is working for a prestigious almost nationally recognized publication. Kudos to Nadin, I am impressed.

I'm doubly impressed. The combined circulation of these publishing giants must be in the hundreds.Fish wrappers, and bird cage liners can be recycled. Sustainability of course.

It was attended. At it’s height, 250-300 people. Given families of some of the acts ca,e as well, this was not just Occupy. They organized it, but it was not just Occupiers.
Hmmmm, I don't see Nadin listed here in the credits.Sure she is.
community volunteer. :-)

Wow. I had one of those when I was a kid, too. Brings back memories <snif>.Dats ok, bd. Quickly moving the rag from the crouch area.
I dunno what drives nadin to even think she's getting Life magazine-quality photographs from her expensive "big rig."
Myself, I loathe and detest cameras, and buy one about oh, once every five years, just to take photographs of the cats, and some of my by-chance photographs of the cats look better, capturing something of their soul. It's by accident, of course.
I think nadin would simplify her life greatly by discarding all the junk she carries around, and simply the next time she goes to "cover" something, stopping first at the convenience store to buy three or four $5 disposable cameras.
