Title: poll: are the primitives passe?
Post by: franksolich on June 09, 2012, 10:39:14 AM
It might be the mid-summer doldrums or something like that, but I'm beginning to wonder; are the primitives now passe, yesterday's news, last year's fad?

If they aren't, I suspect they're headed that way.

Increasingly--personally--I'm finding the primitives as boring as Hell any more.

Sorry coach (may I call you coach), being a newby here, I am fervently hoping for some entertainment through the upcoming election & its aftermath.  I am also hoping to try out a mole persona once I learn more. It would suck if if they self immolated before I was done with them.

They're boring right now, but soon the USSC will rule on the muslim's socialist scheme for wrecking American healthcare. That should enliven the DUmp, then we'll have the approaching general election.

Soon, nutcase nadin will emerge from the summer doldrums and start stirring the pot with googlicious arrogance.

Squatting Mike the clown will soon get over the humiliation of being found living in that little starter ranch house after years of cultivating an image of wealth.

Poor addled grasswipe will have her medications readjusted and get back into her investigation on how coach killed the sodomite.

Maybe we'll get lucky and the foreclosure action will heat up on poor, stupid Beth's little humpbacked camper.

I'm not too worried about the current lull.

I voted yes, probably because they're mostly boring as heck.

I'm not too worried about the current lull.

Well, the sense that the primitives are passe, boring, grew on me as I was ephemerally involved in the efforts to get the big guy elected to the city council of Bellevue, Nebraska.

We knew all along that the primitives weren't the brightest bulb in the room, but they showed they weren't even a single 15-watt refrigerator light-bulb lighting up Yankee Stadium in New York City at night.

And then when I was writing "Atman meets franksolich," it occurred to me we've been able to read the primitives like a book, they unwittingly reveal so much information about themselves.

It was like shooting fish in a barrel, writing about Atman.

Right now, I'm on a one-man endeavor--OSC--using four moles from four different computers to do the job; it's the same as if an experienced hardened Marine commando, two green soldiers recently out of basic training, and a high-school Boy Scout (the level of quality of the moles) were on a secret superdangerous surreptitious mission.

Or so I anticipated.

But even the Boy Scout (the newest and greenest mole) exceeds expectations when it comes to the goals of the mission; it's been easier than strawberries-and-cream.  I tell you, it's no exaggeration, how stupid the primitives are.  Their stupidity defies boundaries.

And to top it off, the primitives don't count.

They never did, they never will.

It's been fun, watching them romp and cavort around Skins's island imagining they count, imagining they're relevant, imagining they have some say in how things are done, imagining their feelings mean something to People Who Count.....but the novelty of that wore off a long time ago.

I dunno; as I said, maybe it's the mid-summer doldrums, but that's how I'm thinking right now.

It's not the primitives fault. The moles are slacking off of their duties to lay out insect bait.

Oh, has anyone been to the Meta section? my source told me that's been boring as heck too.

There're heading that way.
In a couple months, they will bounce back.
After a certain date in November, the poo flinging will start all over.

I was just getting ready to say that Meta isn't anything near as entertaining as it used to be.  It's a snooze now that they don't have as many observing.

Yes, for now.

Once Obamacare goes down in flames (which is why I believe Obama's last speech sounded like it was being given by Eeyore. I'm sure Justice Jon Lovitz Kagan gave him the word.) the primitives will pick right up, and will probably be on a roll until election time.

I'm doing everything I can do to make it so.

From where I'm sitting, the only thing that can possibly make the primitives interesting again is a Republican wipe-out of the Democrats in November.  If that happens, the primitives'll pop like popcorn again.

One saw vague signs of the beginning of the primitive malaise in November 2006, when they came out on top during the mid-term elections.  Even though the Magic One won the White House two years later, and the primitives controlled both houses of Congress by substantial margins, the primitives still withered, as if they weren't excited at all about holding the reins of power.

And now with their time in power--they still after all have the White House, half the Congress, and have owned the Supreme Court since the mid-1950s--the primitives seem to have given up even trying to be interesting any more.

In fact, it might not be a bad idea to call off the Top DUmmies of 2012, as the field's pretty empty.

The classic example of their decline is of course the cooking and baking forum, which is like a cemetery now, despite the hostess Lu's cherubic nature and best efforts to keep it humming along.  It used to be the biggest of the "small forums," but then hippyhubby Wild Bill, jealous of all the attention hippywife Mrs. Alfred Packer was giving it instead of him, forced her to give it up.

The sparkling husband dude had helped it along, but then his trophy wife got all worried about his health--he was getting too upset and agitated over arguments he had with other primitives, wreaking possible cardiac damage--and limited his time hanging around Skins's island.

The pie-and-jam primitive, the grasswire primitive, probably began having spells, and is now sequestered in "assisted living" somewhere, denied access to the internet.

The defrocked warped primitive, like a big old mean rattlesnake who's been hit on the head with a garden-spade several times, but wasn't killed, has sullenly slithered away into a deep dark hole somewhere.

And that's just the deterioration of the cooking and baking forum, not of other forums--the mental health forum's dead without the subway cat, now medicatedly lobotomized--it's a decline all over Skins's island.

nadin's as boring as Hell.  Poor stupid Beth's now even more boring than that.

And too last December, the Great Equalizer took away from this time and place Chief S itting Bull, the Greatest Primitive Ever, the bird-smacking stoned red-faced primitive.

There are no more Great Primitives; only the dull stale boring lumpenunterprimitiven, the amorphous blob, the faceless lynch mob.

If the shovel-ready healthcare scheme goes down, the DUmpmonkeys will start up their scoreboard on how many people have died due to the fascist Supreme Court. That might be entertaining.

Frank, I think the primitives are like a relative of mine. She's not happy unless there is some sort of drama going on. If you give her everything a person could want or need she would be miserable, but if you were to make her life a shambles she would be tickled shitless. I don't know why some people are like that.

Coach, the year isn't even half over yet.  Give them time.  One of them will challenge Nadin.  Remember that there are at least two Great Events coming, in the Obamacare decision (next Monday?) and the Obamessiah repudiation on November 6th.

To be fair, we had a pretty big burst of excitement, entertainment, and hilarity this last Tuesday, but I'm afraid it will only come in spurts from now on. Skammer, the other big two, and the MIRT team have kicked out a very big percentage of the very best DUmors, so there's little left to hope for.

I said not sure, but they're always on the brink of going either way.

Their pattern as of late has been bland, no real excitement, plenty of stupid and out-of-touch comments but without any real punch to them.  The only time they rise to the entertainment we would deisre them to maintain is when something goes dreadfully wrong in their world, like the Walker victory.  Even now, we can anticipate the USSC decision on Obamacare knowing the primitives will go bonkers, but the time in-between major events they seem unable to fill with anything other than their typical hate driven, kook comments.  The quality of primitive has most definately dropped off.

After years of the same liberal shit, I'm starting to get bored with the primitives.

They have not said/done/thought of anything new since Karl Marx, and outside of their impotent rage at everything normal, there's nothing new.

You would think the "smartest people on the internet in the universe would/could come up with something different.   :hammer:

One of the principle defects in the primitives is their abysmal lack of imagination, of creativity, of innovate problem-solving.

I think that they're always glued to the television has something to do with it.

Another of their principle defects is their lack of any sense of humor, self-deprecating and otherwise.

Having watched the primitives for eleven years, I'm now more than ever convinced I wouldn't even want to give one of them the time of the day in real life, they're so boring.

Since the advent of DU3 with its jury system and MIRT teams the place has definitely sunk farther into the fever swamp of irrelevance. The experiment of letting lefty MORONS self govern has proven once again that progressive/socialist/communist societies need a strong armed dictator to maintain order and survive.

The whole place is overrun by cliques of queers, feminazis and just outright too stupid to breath on their own MOONBATS with no moderating influence.

It's a sad day when moleing has become no fun anymore.

Uh huh.

It's just too easy, so there's no more adventure in it.
