Oh my.
After some weeks, I'm finally bringing over a campfire from Skins's island.
I've been on Skins's island most of the time, but that was from different computers, for reasons of security (OSC), and I don't dare come to the DUmpster from those places.

So my shed was broken into by the thief taking the door off the hinges....
They are double doors that swing out and I am wondering what I can do to inhibit this guy from doing it again.
Any suggestions?
Don't put anything in it, and nothing'll get ripped off.
I'll bet the primitive lives in a blue area.

1. I frequently see a bar installed across the doors (raises up to open) with a lock on the end.
No expert here, but that's what I've seen done.

2. reattach hinges with lag bolts
Domed lag head facing out with the nuts on the inside of the shed and doors

3. A small sign saying "this building under photo surveillance" might just do the trick.

4. Hang a sign saying, "Beware of Rats"

5. I think jamb pins might be the answer

6. That was my first thought, too, but they won't work on double doors.
The solution depends on the construction of the doors
If the sparkling old dude knows it won't work, it's probably something he tried himself at some time, to keep the Magic One's adopted sons away from his stuff.

7. If that doesn't work you could always bolt on some chains to the inside of the doors near the hinges
with doors fully open bolt them to the frame and doors. Chains won't help if the doors can be made to swing open when the shed is 'locked' with a weak locking setup absent hinge pins.
Either way you'll have to consider that the next attack might be on the way the two doors lock together if the pin trick won't work again for the thief.
One wonders what was in the garage that attracted thieves.
Fluorescent light fixtures hanging over some trays of a certain sort of plant, one supposes.....

'Course, a shotgun could discourage thieves, too.

In "Castle Doctrine" threads. we are repeatedly told no property is worth the life of a poor hungry misfortunate (drug addict). Why is the poster bitching? A good DUer would feel the love for his fellow 99%er and be proud he helped out by being robbed.

My thoughts too; I can't figure out why the primitives don't see it that way.

Well, I do not profess to be an expert on protecting one's belongings from marauding 0bamaites.
I'm blessed to live in a location where I could literally go about my business for a month without encountering an 0bamaite on the hoof.
But from watching "Cops" and "First 48", they seem to be common vermin, so I'd try sprinking mothballs around the shed.

I know, right? I'd just sleep in there with a gun. I bet I won't even have to pull the trigger before the thief is running away like a little bee-otch.

Let those people touch those things for once (Celine Dion on Katrina looting mode off). Spread the wealth around DUmmie.

Putting job applications around the doors works pretty well. They won't go near it.
-
Maybe they were just breaking back in to get their stuff back.

That's a good one! H5!

O.J. had an excuse like that at his last trial.

It's like the pride a DUmpmonkey feels when a hawk eats his housecat.

In Baltimore, that's a safe bet.

How come the DUmmie doesn't file a police report?
(How do you tell the cops your marijuana growing operation was vandalized?) :lmao:

Only if a DUmmy has anything of value, which I highly doubt.
I know value is a relative term. A 3.00 bong is a vast improvement over a .99 cent bong.

That reminded me of the Cops episode last night. It happened in Las Vegas, of course. Some guy stole another man's truck. The man and his brother were standing right by the truck when it happened. So the owner of the vehicle and his brother got in the other truck and chased after the thief. The brother crashed his truck into the other truck, the thief got out and started running, so the owner of the vehicle chased after him.
Metro pulled up and cuffed the thief. The thief was like, "He was chasing me!!!!" The cop was like, "why was he chasing you?" and the dumb shit said something like, "I was just trying to go home."

Been pondering on this poor DUmmies delemma for a day.
Came to the conclution that the thieves were DUmmies, too.
Had they been Conservatives, they would have just turned the knob and walked in.
Lock the door, DUmpmonkey.
-
What could a DUmpmonkey own that wouild be worth stealing - especially considering it's unlikely he stores his drug stash in an outdoor shed?
The thief must have a thing for bags filled with old newspapers.

Oh this hurts big time. A party for the Officers of a CBGN and I found myself talking to an officer from Maine.
I asked what he thought about the Lobster wars going on off the coast of Maine and the big dagger's from other country's coming in and taking not only the lobsters but the pots of the local fishermen.
Good thing I was sober and remember this, he told me that the local fishermen had no right to fire on the ships stealing their pots, no life is worth a piece of property.
So this Naval Officer who was in fact in charge of the weapons aboard the California had that mind set. This was back in the mid 1970's and by now that Officer may be in charge of who knows what.
This was perhaps the most important conversation I ever had with anyone in charge of mass distruction of human life or war fair. Total idiots the youth coming in, and today they are forcing out the old time masters that know their shit. :censored: :censored: :censored:

vesta, your posts are very much like stream of consciousness. It can be pure genius in the hands of a master, sadly you are not one. What you have is more like a greek cathartic play. That would be great for you if you had to get whatever was bothering you off your chest, but it only works if you have an empathetic, or sympathetic ear on the other end. IOW, it has to be mutual, I haven't seen one person on the forum fill that role. Therefore, you would be better off on a psychiatrist's or psychologist's couch, or both.

Ti's true, I was once told by a Psychiatrist that people with my mind set is the leading cause of suicide in their profession.
