The Chicago teachers' Union is demanding a 30% pay increase and class reduction sizes.  Keep the below facts in mind:

- They work 3 months less than everyone else
- The district has a $700 million deficit
- Graduation rates hover around 50%
- 55% of one Chicago district's teachers make over $100,000 currently
- Their retirement fund pays at 75% of their highest pay, which is still more than most taxpayers will ever make.

- 15 "Guidance Counselors" pulling down between $100k and $174k, with the average at $134
- A $147k drivers Ed teacher
- $148k for a sex ed. teacher
- 14 gym teachers each pulling down between $109 and $170k

Yeah, unions are soooooo needed.  :whatever:

Let them keep pushing the taxpayer.  They will find out that WI was the tip of the iceberg.

I find this to be hilarious.  Rahm Emanuel against the teachers unions.  Every time a DemonRat is forced to slap down a public union it strengthens the case against unions in general.

How about we base their pay on standardized testing and graduation rates instead  :whistling:

Making the teachers take the standardized tests would be unfair wouldn't it?   :-)

If I demanded a 30% pay increase, I'd be shown the door.

They need to do to Chicago what they did with Washington D.C. Evaluate them, then fire them. If they have a graduation rate of around 50%. Then the flipping teachers aren't doing their jobs.

That may be a part of it, but mostly it is traceable to the corruption and destruction of Black urban family life and positive cultural values that began with LBJ's Great Society and all the White Liberal know-it-alls who knew 'Just what they needed,' i.e. a free ride on everyone else's dime in return for voting in bondage for Liberals for the rest of their days.

Well, if it is inner-city. The pregnancy rate and welfare rate is pretty high. That is also where you find a lot of generation welfare families. So naturally the drop out rate would be high as well.

If I were to do so, they would tell me yes, but it will be over ten years, 3% a year.  :lmao:

Does the 50% graduation rate include drop outs or just  the students that make it to their senior year?
