Feds attack California's medical marijuana trade-again
By Dan Whitcomb
LOS ANGELES | Wed Jun 6, 2012 5:38pm EDT
(Reuters) - Federal authorities opened the latest front in their war on California's massive medical marijuana industry this week, filing property forfeiture lawsuits in a bid to shut down three dispensaries and sending warning letters to 34 people.
The moves by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles are the latest in an ongoing crackdown on what federal prosecutors say is a flourishing network of illegal cannabis suppliers operating across California under the cover of the state's medical marijuana law.
Authorities have now targeted more than 220 dispensaries -- deemed "marijuana stores" by prosecutors -- or indoor cultivation houses in the seven-county Central District of California alone, U.S. Attorney's spokesman Thom Mrozek said.
Most have been closed or are facing eviction or have been the subject to additional federal law enforcement actions, he said. The Central District of California represents the largest federal law enforcement jurisdiction in the country.

1. When does this end?
I live in Bakersfield, and the idiots here voted out pot shops.
They know the type of people that pot shops draw.

2. This ends when we start defeating politicians who support it.
Obama is in California fund-raising today. I wonder if he hears the howls of anger and outrage. Somehow, I doubt it.
California is a safe Democratic state. It will be interesting to see how many vote third party.

states rights, eh?
Most awesome priorites from our federal government......
Your tax dollars hard at work.
F**king DUmmies are all for states rights when it comes to their drugs, but let Arizona or some other state want to enforce laws against illegal aliens and suddenly they love the Feds.
I think the feds should halt all federal monies going to states that have legalized medical marijuana. Force them to obey the federal law just like they did with the drinking age and speed limits.

Hope and Choom-ge, bitches. You voted for this, so suck it up.

I live in Fresno (more or less) you wouldn't believe how many ads there are on craigslist blatantly selling weed. Were I desperate for cash, I might consider robbing drug dealers for fun and profit... Not like they would report it to the police, or that if they did the cops would be gung ho...

Wow, until I saw just how many pot shops were needed, some are across the street from one another, I never knew just how many MILLIONS "needed" their "medicine". All for a "drug" with no known true benefit other than making AIDS patients hungry.

Just wanted to comment on your username - One of the most misunderstood song lyrics of all time. :-)
-Aside : my five year old misheard Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger" as "Move My Dragon" - and now I can't hear the song the right way anymore. And now that you have read this, neither can you.
Seriously - listen to it, you'll see.. or should I say hear..
