Title: Reform Smoker Speaks Out

Do you smokers know how horrible you smell?

It's in your clothes and your hair. You have a smoker's odor that can travel ahead of you and ex-smokers and non-smokers know you're coming.

If your signifiant other, spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, or whoever is closest to you kisses you on the mouth, you taste like cigarettes.

You take baths and showers so you don't develop body odor, but you have smoker's odor.

If you smoke in your house, those who live in it (including children) will carry that same smell.

I smoked for 27 years. I raised 3 children in a smoker's house. I had no idea about any of this. Maybe if someone had told me, I might have quit much sooner. I quit almost 5 years ago and I'm relieved to be smoke free.

You smokers all know the health risks, but do you know how horrible you smell?

I swear, I ****ing HATE a reform smoker than thinks they know everything, and PESTERS others to quit, or the smell, or the taste, or the BS epidemiological second hand smoke studies. You think I don't know all this shit already?

Hey fruit loop, it's none of your business! If I ever do quit smoking, I'm NEVER going to turn into THIS DUmmie!

6. Ugh.

That just brought back the vivid memories of one child we had over to the house to play with my daughter, and we didn't have her back because the furniture reeked so badly it was making me sick for a week or two afterwards, from the third hand smoke she introduced into the upholstery. God that was awful. Sweet kid, but I couldn't sit on the couch after she was there without my stomach turning.

I didn't tell the parents though. I don't know that they would have stopped even if they knew it was costing their kid some friends. I think they just would have been insulted.

:lmao: "Third hand smoke" That's even more bullshit than the 2nd hand stuff, and you can't even PROVE any of that.

Good story. Zero bongs though. Oh, speaking of that, did you know smoking one joint is equivillent to smoking 4 cigarettes? Yeah, so shut up, and eat your cheetoes.

That's a keen sense of smell that you can still tell all that with your head up your ass.

Yeah and the real reason the kid never came back was....the kids parents had a hell of time getting rid of the head lice and bed bugs brought home from DUmmies house.
Just because you hang up a hundred cardboard pine trees does not mean your house is clean, DUmmie.

When it comes to chooming, owebuma loves 3rd hand smoke. He was sustainable before sustainable was in vogue.

I am not an ex smoker as I have never smoked (anything) but what this ex-smoking DUmmie says is true. Some smokers smell worse than others. Like my mother-in-law, you can tell she smokes but it doesn't make you gag. Her house, clothes and hair don't reek of cigarette smoke. My borther on the other hand has the dirty ashtray smell oozing from his pores.

Everything on him reeks of smoking. When he leans in to give me a kiss on the cheek I can taste ashtray and I'm not even kissing him on the lips  The thought of kissing someone on the lips who smokes makes me ill. At times my throat even burns after he comes inside from smoking.  On a positive note, my kids thinks it is absolutely gross because of the smell (mainly from my brother) and they will never smoke because of it.  I think the reason my brother stinks so bad is the way he smokes. He doesn't blow it down wind, it just envelops him and stays there like a black cloud.

With all that being said, I don't think it should be illegal to smoke in restaurants etc. Business offices are different deal because office workers don't have the option of not working there.

On the "third hand smoke" deal, I babysat a little girl back in 1995 or 1996. She always smelled of smoke and so did her diaper bag. Her mom had a baby boy when i was watching her and  I also ended up babysitting  him.  This newborn baby smelled of smoke. Sometimes I would give him a bath and wash his clothes (and put baby lotion in his hair) because I felt like he should smell like a baby not an ashtray. I often wondered if she could smell that I had bathed him and washed his clothes but later I figured that she couldn't smell that I had bathed him because your sense of smell is screwed up when you smoke.

I smoke and I know I stink.

Heard a comedian once say that the cruelest joke on smokers was that their sense of smell was the first to go.  Yeah, nailed that one.

Useless link, this.  What was the point of them posting it?

If people want to help, add tips on how to quit or something.  Shit about how some kid sat on your couch and you were still battling nausea/asthema two weeks later just makes you look like a damn loon.

I quit over 10 years ago but when someone has a cigarette, I like the smell of it in the air still. Can't stand it on people, though.

Your perception of reality may be warped from your smoking.

24. Seriously? WI hangs in the balance, and you're worried about how smokers SMELL?

There are some warped priorities on display there.

Just sayin'.

31. Many people are capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time...

I can be concerned about WI and express my distaste at smelling smokers at the same time. I know folks who eat chocolate kisses, worry about global warming and read at the same time.

Just sayin'

37. I thought you might say that ... the ol' "chewing gum and walking" canard

But given that a lot of union members and Democrats also happen to smoke (don't know that stats, just an educated guess), why would you want to piss them off TODAY?

In fact, why ANY DAY?

I think the OP probably got pissed off at having to walk through a cloud of smoke on their way to work or something.  I smoked over 15 yrs and I have to say I am glad I quit.  It does stink, gives the most disgusting breath, and really messes up a womans skin/hair.

I am so sensitive to smoke I can be driving down the road behind a smoker with my windows up and smell their smoke.  It is odd how it does stink more on certain people than others.  Maybe it has to do with their sweat/chemicals?

I was really stressed this last weekend and I bought a whole pack $7.30 and took 2 puffs on one and MAN!  did I throw that away.  I thought I was going to get that nice warm rush down my throat followed by the melting of muscles feeling.  Did nothing but make my tongue feel disgusting.  I threw them away.  I wasted $7.30 for nothing!

I can smell cigarette smoke when I'm behind someone smoking in their car too. I think I have a super sniffer. I'm always smelling things long before anyone in my family does. Like the other day I smelled a dead animal in our garage. Every time I went out there I would ask if anyone else smelled it. No one else did until about two days later. My husband finally went out and checked the mouse trap thingy and there was a small dead mouse in it.

My mom always says I can smell an ant fart  :hyper:  which reminds me, don't mind me going vesta but I used to ask what those noises were at fires and I was told they were ant farts.  ok, back to being normal  :panic:
