Richard Dawson, Dead at 80.
I really enjoyed his work.
Sad to see him go, I hope he is at peace.
Anyone have them in their dead pool ?
-
I never really watched the original Family Feud. So I didn't know who he was until I looked him up.
-
I'm surprised he was only 80 (and still alive).

Hogan's Heroes
The Running Man
I didn't know he played in Hogans Heroes. I loved that show. I will have to look it up and watch a couple of episodes.

Hogan's Heroes
The Running Man
He was great in Running Man. For some reason I thought he had died a couple years ago.
-
Honestly, I had him in my "already dead" pool.
This happens from time to time-- I'll hear about so-and-so being sick, and my first thought wil be "well good for them, I thought they'd been dead for years."
-
Wow I thought he was born earlier than 1932, and I thought surely he had been dead. RIP Mr Dawson, I enjoyed Hogan's Heroes.

He will be.missed.
wat,hed hogans heroes as a.kid.

Yeah, I enjoyed Hogan's Heroes as a kid as well, though the portrayal of German soldiers as being complete imbeciles was fairly stupid itself.
Later, during his hosting of "Family Feud", his habit of insisting on a liplock with the female contestants was a little over the top.

I saw someone talking about the kissing thing. They said that as he kissed them, he'd wish them good luck. There was a time when he was going to stop kissing female contestants, but most of them expected it and kind of wanted the kiss. It had become his sort of trademark.

He was also a longtime fixture on "Match Game". RIP.

It was a sitcom... It was supposed to reflect stupidity.
I enjoyed Hogan's Heroes.
I was never a big fan of the Family Feud though.

Yeah, I know that it was a sitcom. Doh.
Twenty years after WWII and they're still portraying the Germans as if they're dumbasses? Moronic in and of itself.
Kinda funny --- I don't remember The Rat Patrol or even Combat! in that same light, or even Robert Conrad a little later in Baa Baa Black Sheep. Or even McHale's Navy, for that matter.
There's a point at which you transcend comedy and you go directly to boorishness. It was more a reflection on the producers than on anybody else, frankly.
YMMV.

Hogan's Heroes is what I remember him mostly from.
