Unemployment would be 7.1% without all the Gov. cuts.

Just heard that on the Randy Rhodes show. Worth pointing out over and over and over!
On edit, here is a link to where she probably got it from: http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2012/05/08/unemployment-rate-without-government-cuts-7-1/

1. Well maybe the pressure should have been on local governments to raise taxes to keep their employees
These are local issues.
So the answer is to raise taxes on those people who are already struggling in order to employ more government workers, meanwhile local businesses shut the doors and we end up with the same or even higher unemployment. Great idea DUmmies. :whatever:

Who knows what unemployment would be at if 0bama didn't piss away nearly $1 trillion on his
slush fund stimulus.
And who knows what would have happened if GM would have just gone bankrupt and not had a total government idiot put in charge to make toy cars for 0bama?

You guys really need to read the comments section at the WSJ link, that author is taking a beating:

We must put ourselves into debt in order to get ourselves out of debt. We must not by any means attempt austerity, or balanced budgeting, or heaven forbid, surplus budgeting.
-
Because of all the State spending over the years people were forced to move out of State because they couldn't afford to live here anymore. Do they seriously not get that?

Unemployment would have been back to about 6 percent right now if all the new regs and obumbles-care hadn't been enacted.

Every time some Dim starts talking higher taxes or the penalties in Obamacare, the unemployment rate goes up again. You'd think even the Dims would get the hint...

Yup. For the people who have money, who would want to invest while Obumbles is still in the White Hut? Smart money will continue to sit on their wallets until he is OUT of office.

The more basic fallacy is considering public sector jobs as a help in times like this. Nope, its just making the problem worse because the public sector worker is not producing wealth. Private sector wealth must be confiscated to pay for public employees. We need far less people working for the government especially in recession times. Less salaries and less unaffordable perks and pensions where the money must all come from the private sector. Even minimum wage burger flippers are far more desirable and healthy for our economy than a Harvard Grad who draws a check as a government employee. The burger flippers, collectively, contribute to the economy in a positive way.

Public Sector Jobs 101, for DUmmies:
1.Private sector jobs are 'tank' jobs.
2.Public sector jobs are 'bowl' jobs.

We could all be millionaires if the government mandated a $50/hr minimum wage and we could use a millionaire surtax of 90% to pay for it.

That's pretty much how I understand it. :banghead:
Did that idiot even think for one minute about what he said?
Probably not.

Passing Obamacare is one of the main reasons why companies aren't hiring. They won't be able to afford it. I also know some business leaders in my area, they work for some fairly large companies; and every one of them said that they will not hire until Obama is out of office. His policies are killing them.
