Title: Old people do smell

The distinctive "old person smell" you may have picked up on when visiting your grandparents most likely wasn't your imagination, a new study indicates.

When given whiffs from pieces of pads worn under the armpits of young, middle-aged and elderly people for five consecutive nights, study participants could reliably distinguish the body odor of the elderly, who were 75 and older, the researchers found.

"You smell like an old person"....first time I ever heard that was a week or so ago from my son....I'm only 67.

In my defense, we had been working in the yard a lot that day.

Okay, the study rates people who are between 20-30 as young; middle-aged between 45-55; and the elderly as >75. What the hell are people who are between 31-45? And 56-75? 'Tweeners?  :???:

And what the hell does an old person smell like? To me, I think "old person" when I smell mothballs (and no, you chumps, I didn't say "a moth's balls" I said "MOTHBALLS").  :lmao:

I thought about this for a little bit.
Yes, we do smell a bit different.
I'm pretty much a new-comer into the age oldcooteness.
We smell of time.
We smell of experience.
We've done and experienced things, that you will never know.
It's much the same as my not experiencing what my parents or grandparents did.
You will be able to do same, in a few, very short decades.
You're going to get there, nothing you can do to stop it.
Go smoke a cigar, have a drink of whiskey. You're going to be there.
If I'm still alive, I'll buy you that whiskey.

Not the whole house, just the kitchen near the cupboards.

Not the whole house, just the kitchen near the cupboards.

I have had friends move into rental houses that had elderly residents before they moved in.

The house would smell like old people, ben gay & moth balls....

I wonder what Heidi Fleiss' house smells like with all those birds flying around...... :stoner:

Do you have many leather bound books and does your apartment smell of rich mahogany? :-)
