In Florida, Scott Administration Vows To Accelerate Voter Purge: ‘There Will Be More Names’
By Judd Legum on May 30, 2012 at 9:13 am
The massive voter purge order by Governor Rick Scott in Florida has been plagued with errors, resulting in election officials notifying hundreds of a few eligible U.S. citizens that they are ineligible to vote.
In response, the Scott administration has vowed to intensify their efforts to remove illegally registered voters from the rolls.
Initially, the state created a list of over 180,000 purported “non-citizens†by comparing their list of registered voters to the state motor vehicle database. The state forwarded about 2700 names from that list to local officials to remove from the rolls. Yesterday, in the face of mounting problems with the limited effort, Scott administration officials made it clear they were just getting started:
Chris Cate, a spokesman for the state Division of Elections, defended the state’s actions. “It’s very important we make sure ineligible voters can’t cast a ballot,†(my bold) he said in an email to the Herald on Tuesday.
He said the state continues to identify ineligible voters, saying the state Division of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has agreed to update information using a federal database that the elections division couldn’t access directly.
“We won’t be sending any new names to supervisors until the information we have is updated, because we always want to make sure we are using the best information available,â€(my bold) Cate wrote. “I don’t have a timetable on when the next list of names will be sent to supervisors, but there will be more names.â€

Nice source of unbiased information ya got there, Babs.
I would think the DUmpmonkeys would be happy to see this happen. Makes it harder for the Repubs to steal the election.

10. Where the hell is the DOJ?
Or anybody else? Or are they just going to let the repigs steal another one in FL?
Why would DOJ get envolved in state business?
After all, they're jus purging the roles of illegal Repug voters that stole the election last time.

12. Repubs don't even care how obvious it is that they're cheating
because they'e gotten away with it many times before. It's gotta stop, reporters must do their jobs.
Removing ineligible voters from the rolls is cheating. :banghead:

30. They might not be able to vote . . .
. . . but they can protest. Send 180,000 protesters over to Rick Scott's lawn.
This is being done with a tremendous amount of high-handedness.
Please do, makes it easy for INS.
Oops, didn't think of that, did you? :lmao:
On and on they went.

How are you going to get 180,000 dead bodies out of the ground?
Liberals don't do manual labor.

I know, they slip up like that all the time.
They're so obvious: "Repukes steal elections!!" :panic: "Stop preventing us from stealing elections!! :panic:
Have been for years. Everyone sees it, DUmmies.

I think what needs to happen is every DUmmy needs to have their vote stolen at their polling place by an illegal voter who was not asked for ID. Then again it really wouldn't matter since they would have voted the same way anyway.

More stupid crap from the DUmp.

shall receive a payment from the state government of $2,000. This is a strict-liability deal. (Meaning that innocent intent or human error on the part of the state is not a defense. No hard feelings... just pay the damn money.)
This proposed (by me) national law would have constitutional problems Ya think?? because I doubt Congress can mandate such a payment, but it's a fine general idea if implementable in some fashion.

1. Perhaps they should get two votes in the following election... Why do want to reduce what they already are doing?
(but only if they are of a different party than the current state administration.)

2. I like that idea
They're always talking about "responsibility." Let them take some responsibility for depriving eligible voters of their right to vote.
It's the individual that has the responsabilty to enroll correctly.
If they have made an error, it is their responsability to correct it.
If the state made the error, I'm pretty dang sure a phone call, or something just as simple, would fix the problem.

To you and any other lurking DUmbass, I issue this challenge: Show me where Florida is purging eligible voters. You made the statement, burden of proof is on you, let's see it.
Don't worry, I'll wait...

I haven't heard the word "disenfranchise" lately.

I suspect the state is reminding those that are registered in the wrong precinct (according to DMV records) that they need to re-register in the correct precinct, in order to vote.
The DUmp should be happy about this, as it sounds like a state run voter registration program.
I haven't heard the word "disenfranchise" lately.
Did see it. Just a sec, I'll look.
OK, here it is.

8. I don't like the idea.
It's too much like paying people not to vote. I'd like to see jail time for people who disenfranchise voters instead.

What's wrong with purging the names of people who aren't eligible to vote?
Don't be silly. Of course they're eligible to vote, it's just that might not be capable of voting properly. Theretofore, with the proper use of the John Edwards channeling machine, these helpful critters can go and vote for those who can't show up due to a crippling lack of life or maybe moving out of state (but you know their hearts are still there)!
Ineligible. It's such an ugly word. Like illegal, or alien, or cutting benefits. :banghead:
