Title: Is the Trayvon Martin thing winding down?
Post by: Mr Mannn on May 28, 2012, 05:52:51 AM
New revelations showing mixing drug cocktails, justifications for self defense,  and fewer and fewer stories.

Bottom line is: outrage over single event just can't be maintained over a period of months. The political windfall this was supposed to bring seems to be fading away. If there was a culture of persecution, this wouldn't be such an isolated case, there would be a string of incidents that could perpetuate the outrage.

I'm thinking that come November, Travon and his Skittles will just be a footnote, not a factor.

I think all the people in Congress and the Senate should be kicked out of their positions in government. Hopefully, come November, that will happen.

Wouldn't it be great if there were some repercussions for those that lead with their ass into a situation they didn't understand only to make it worse?

Maybe if we brought back pillories:

That is what I am hoping.

Hi,

Until we get congressional term limits, the crap will continue.  You could start over and within ten years it would be the same old crap.  Until you get actual leaders, folks who have been in business, started businesses, met payrolls, and had to deal with real problems serving their country, it just ain't gonna get any better.

The founding fathers rode on horseback for days to get to Washington.  I suspect the idea of a career politican never occured to them, for those folks they left their family businesses and farms and it was a true sacrifice for many.

I personally have a hard time calling idiots like Al Gore and his fellow comrades public servants....

regards,

So am I. I have mentioned that a number of times too.

I don't think they should get a pension period.  Let them use a 401K type program.

Yeah, I would be happy with that. I hate that a congressman can be in office for two years and get paid for the rest of his life.

Yep.  There are many things the leftists can race-bait with: facts and evidence are never very high on that list.

+1.  I sure hope the Florida Bar Association is watching this case with great interest.

Until we get congressional term limits, the crap will continue.

As an aside observation, I really hate to see any politically aware person talk about congressional term limits.  We already have congressional term limits - elections every two years.  There is no better congressional term limiter than a voting populace.  Any attempt to have congress make laws limiting themselves will end in disaster and there will be more loopholes in that piece of legislation than in Mikey Moore's pants.

FIFY. Unfortunately, we currently have a horribly underinformed electorate who either allow themselves to be scared into voting one way or the other or vote for the guy they've always voted for.

I'm a proponent of humongous reforms in the perks and bennies of our Congress Critters.
