Every time a liberal cries a fictional spirit-guide gets a free meal at Denny's. And every time a liberal has a nervous breakdown a fictional spirit-guide gets to go an a free baby seal clubbing expedition.

Like I said before, I don't buy it there has to be some kind of catch to this.
The catch has already been discussed in construction magizines....and Caterpillar has built special off road trucks for the solution. You have to truck all the drilling sludge several hundred miles over frozen ground (no roads) to an approved landfill.
The trucks are converted end dumps. The dump beds are converted to heated tanks to keep the drilling sludge from freezing in the tanks. Because no roads can be built in that area, you have to drill and haul sludge in the worst winter conditions the great white north has to offer.
It's mostly election hype on paper to get votes only but it also, IN MY OPINION, helps insure that there will be a disaster and that disaster will be used to shut down all future drilling in the north..

I can see an organization the size of Shell being willing to bite the bullet on that for exploration, with an eye to a future administration having a more desperate need for the oil and then relaxing those requirements when it comes time to exploit.

This is the same 0bama regime that kept the Shell exploratory drilling ship out of the Arctic because one of it's many generators was not CARB approved? The generator was in the 3000 watt range and it kept the ship out all of last summer. 0 is all about getting more energy for us.

I was talking to a fleet truck manager last Sunday. He was telling me about all the problems they're having with the new TIER 4 diesel engines be they CAT, DETRIOT or CUMMINS, they're all giving trouble and using more fuel than the previous engines. He has one new truck that has been in service a little over three months and been on the road only 20 days out of all that time.
Our idiots in Washington that think they're smart enough to stipulate engine design, fuel economy and pollution standards..... :argh: ASSHOLE, you majored in Political Science and a Political Science degree does not mean you're a brilliant scientist.

Diesel Power magazine had an article about the new Ford Power Stroke, and were doing some power modifications to it.
The first thing to go, after the EGR hardware, was tbe exhaust system, ALL 150 POUNDS of it! The truck made 20% more power, and got 3 more miles per gallon to boot. That was all that was done to it!
