The job itself is hard enough, but.........

That's a whole bunch of flitter-mice.
Home owners probably got tired of the odor.

A house I rented had bats in the attic. I hate bats.

They're really good to have around - outside. They eat untold numbers of mosquitoes and other flying insect pests.

I know that but they are a pain in the ass once they make the inside of your house their home. The smell is bad and the potential for rabies is worse.

True. That's why I specifically said "outside". But the rabies can still be a problem.

About 20 years ago, we had a work party at the deer camp I belong to, in the Adirondacks. We were putting a new roof on the porch that had been built a few years before. There was some improvised flashing between the main camp and the roof of the porch, so I was asked to go on the roof of the porch (maybe 100 sq. ft.) and rip the flashing off. There were six bats hanging out under the flashing, and the batshit was a cloud of dust. Effin' wonderful. I was trying to ward the bats off as they flew away, and I damn near fell off that roof twice in about a minute. I'm not too keen on bats (except to kill mosquitoes).

Without them, we wouldn't have our great American pastime.
