Obama campaign condemns Bill Maher's Romney 'cult' remark

By Olivier Knox | The Ticket – 4 hrs ago

President Barack Obama's reelection campaign on Monday repudiated comic Bill Maher's description of Mitt Romney's religion, Mormonism, as a "cult."

Maher, a major donor to a super PAC backing Obama, had tweeted "Why even listen to #MittRomney on foreign policy? His entire FP experience is 2 yrs trying to brow-beat Frenchmen into joining his cult." The former Massachusetts governor spent two years in France as a missionary.

"Attacking a candidate's religion is out of bounds, and our campaign will not engage in it, and we don't think others should either," campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith told Yahoo News by email.

6. Typical corporate media rules:

Democrats are not allowed to discuss the secretive cult that the Bishop Mitt belongs to.

Republicans are permitted to claim that President Obama is a secret Muslim that wants to wipe out Israel and ban the bible.

Kinda like how Sarah Palin was getting so angry about the stupid press violating her privacy and stuff. All she wanted to do was be vice President and be a heartbeat away from the big nuke button!!

Well considering they were hounding Palin and not looking at 0bama at all, she had a legitimate gripe.

7. Good. Romney's Mormonism should not be an issue...

We're better than that. I know Obama is better than that. I know if Mo Udall had won the Democratic nomination in 1976, I would hope his Mormon faith would have never been an issue. Romney has far bigger skeletons in his closet than his religion.

No, you aren't better than that. You goons say horrible things about religion on a daily basis.

How many Mormons are now in the senate and congress? Quite a few of them. I am glad to see they finally spoke out about Bill Maher. They will still, however, not return his money.

It was simply a PR move, they came out with statement then will forget all about it.

I'm sure the more these attacks on the LDS happen, the more the 0bama campaign will condemn. The attacks will continue and Romney will be berated for any black liberation theory preaching from Rev. Wright mentions by anyone.

OAN, listening to the Rev. Wright interview about 0bama saying he (Wright)  had to tell the truth and 0 did not nor would not. Hearing Wright saying the he considered that a good thing, made  me respect him more. I can respect a man with vastly different view points if he is honest and not a hypocrite. Neither of which 0bama is.

The only time Bill Maher gets any attention is when he makes crude "jokes" about conservatives. I bet he is secretly hoping Romney will win so he will get even more attention. He is a gross pig of a "man".

He also complains frequently about not having female companionship. Now why would that be ?

I ain't falling for it. This is a clear case of good cop bad cop kabuki theater. Since I know how dems think it went down like this; Obama campaign asked Maher in person to throw some red meat their way. He does so giving the Obama campaign a fake PR moment where they can claim moral high ground at the same time giving a wink wink and thanks for the million cash to Maher.

Yet Obama is still unwilling to return the million dollar donation to Maher, so the condemnation means nothing.

Doesn't anyone see that someone asshat from the left will say something so disgusting and of course the magic negro comes out and says it was wrong to say that? It couldn't be more obvious

And the dirty little secret is that it makes the "news".  If Obama said nothing in response to maher, nobody would have cared or noticed the cult/Mormon angle.

:lmao:  Like what?  He was already vetted in the last go-around, and has had opposition research on him for years.

He tried a beer once, and didn't like it.   :panic:   But then, the DUmmies say "I don't trust a guy who doesn't drink."  So you don't trust muslims, either?

Sharia compliant prostitutes.

So why is it so many wealthy Muslims vacation in country's where the sale of children for sex is considered normal ???      Where do these nasty rumors come from ?

Seems from watching videos of Sharia compliant Prostitutes smuggled out of the middle east, the only proscribed by law Prostitutes 's are the young males.

Now we know homosexuality is forbidden unless it is as a male dancing Boy. This is not concerted homosexuality as these are male prostituie's are just earning a living.

Darn males are hung if they form a partnership that is exclusive to each other.  Odd thinking but this is by Liberal standards their culture and we must respect it.

We in the world of Enlightenment , Science, history and technology may be taken down by these people that still cling to the world of male dominance, and give no thought to the future.  All the strides they made in science, medicine and art are lost to the Males lust for 120 virgins when they die.

The Muslim faith is built on pure lust, for those on earth and in the heavens.  Something went wrong somewhere when a faith is controlled on the lust of the male with no thought of of anyone but themselves, and there is no thought of life or limb to the females that are just cows to be be bought and sold, disposed of when the goods no longer benefit them.

Rant over, for now.

Its far more simple than that. The primitives are against anything Romney is for. If Mitt started off each morning with a bowl packed full of herb, they would turn their backs on legalization. Not only would they turn their backs, they would declare they were never for it in the first place.

You might think its crazy, but look at their stances on other issues.

Obama's wars are good.
GITMO is still open, and that's alright.
They celebrate the killing of OBL.
The president really CANT control the price of oil.
Foreign diplomatic experience really is important.
It is not okay to disagree with the administration.

..and too many more to list..

Anyway - if all of these chages could happen to primitive idology in just a few short years, their stance on weed most certainly can 'evolve'.  :stoner:
