Title: Life is good today...
Post by: CG6468 on May 22, 2012, 10:11:08 AM
I'm deep frying 12 dozen taco shells on the back porch, I've shot 3 chipmunks so far, saw the white (but not really albino robin, the hummers are at their feeders, and the woods are quiet.

I'm jealous.

We've got a hummingbird feeder outside of our kitchen window. Amazing critters. We gotta keep the garage door closed, though, because the stupid bastards are too dumb to figure out how to get OUT of the garage. They'll die if they aren't "escorted" out.

This past weekend I laid in the hammock and just laid in a semi conscious state while the cool wind blew off the river.  It was the most serene and actually felt like a sugar high.  Perfect moment.

We have the same problem with sparrows. The hummers are REALLY busy this morning!

Interestingly, all 6 of our grandkids won't eat tacos unless they're (made with grandpas" taco shells)." And the oldest 2 just graduated from college!  :lmao:

Rifle. Ruger Model 10-22, with or without scope. The distance varies from about 40 feet to about 50 yards. Keeps my shooting eye sharp and the rifle warm!

Love...and someone to share it with. A jug of wine, a rare grilled steak, and....

You are so right nj. Without love, nothing else is really worth anything.

I have got to get me one of them 10/22 Takedown models.

I really like this rifle. I had been using a Savage that my aunt gave to me for my birthday in 1955. But the ejection clip went out of me, and it became useless with the constant cartridge jams. The local gun shop couldn't find a replacement.

Did you try Numerich Arms?  They have all sorts of old, odd gun parts.

No. But it's not that important right now.

No. It's really heavy, needs a lot of maintenance (after at least 10K shots going through it), and it's just had its day.
