Confusion over safe havens
to me safe haven means that members of a group can block people whom they find disrespectful out of their group. They can also lock OP's not fitting with the group SOP.

it does not mean they can say anything they want to in a group

for instead in the LGBT group we can't say "let's vote for Mitt Romney" and have it be ok.

Am i wrong in these assumptions?

Safe haven from *what*, in other words?

For feminists groups, safe haven from disruptors who reject the assertions in the Statements of Purpose regarding the disadvantaged status of women in society, and the reasons for it.

For the LGBT group, the African-American group, ditto, mutatis mutandis. Atheists and religious types apparently each consider themselves disadvantaged and/or vulnerable, so they both get protection, I gather.

But Men? In western society, or at DU?

Give Me A ****ing Break.
