too dependent on me for his happiness. He is so attached to me, my bil once said my dog is like my Siamese twin...attached to me....he's always at my side. It makes me sad that he may be this dog in the picture if anything happened to me. I don't know how to change that possibility.
The picture is sad and yet heartwarming. To see such maternal love in an animal.

I almost can't stop laughing at that remark. Yes, that polar bear is mourning global warming. Also on that polar bear's mind: how to get to OWS without getting too hot. How to hunt only sustainable fish. How to get a strain of marijuana to grow in the Arctic so polar bears afflicted by glaucoma can toke out.

I only wish we could see their reaction when mom & dad start chowing down on the corpse. One of my favorite Rush storeys is the one he tells about the rescued sea otter (Exon Valdez) that they were returning to the wild. The hippies brought all the school kids out to watch the great event. As they watched the cute otter swim out into the bay, a killer whale appeared & did what comes naturally to killer whales. Just like the Donner Party and the rugby team who's plane crashed in the Andes. They did what they had to do to survive. But remember, the libs told us all that starving to death was euphoric, and a great way to die (Schiavo). I remember asking the libs on the Hannity forum in those days to try and explain when that euphoria hits. Is it before or after a person gets so desperate to survive that they resort to eating dead human flesh? Funny, but I never got an answer.

Nah, that behavior is only consistent with global climate change, ie, no animal ate its own until George W. Bush began the phenomenon of global warming on his inauguration day in 2001.
Since then, animals confused by warm (or cool) weather have expressed their confusion by mistaking their own for prey.
So really, it's all George W. Bush's fault, and he should be frogmarched to the Hague right away.
(but we really need to think about the word 'frogmarch,' since we all know that most frogs were born without legs since January 2001.)

Actually, now that you mention it, my cat is lobbying for 3 cans of cat food a day, as opposed to 2 cans.
The round, bottom sirloin and maybe even the shank seem to be coming in.
I need to start throwing her at people, or dogs, for the exercise I think.

The picture is presented with no context or framework at all. Furthermore, the DUmmie's attempt to anthropomorphize the actions of the "parents" is ridiculous. They're animals. It's not as though they plan to build elaborate funeral pyres or monuments that will last thousands of years to one bear cub who may or may not have died due to natural causes.

I'd imagine the DUmmies would happily wander up to the polar bears, and think they could just hug and play with those beautiful creatures all day long like they were domesticated dogs or something.
In real life, as soon as the polar bears caught the scent of human flesh (Ignoring the stench of incense, stale marijuana smoke, and simple BO emanating from the DUmmies), they'd bare their teeth and go on the hunt. A minute later, the awesome "Circle of Life" scene you describe would happen.

Timothy Treadwell, the Grizzly Man
In an interview with his parents in the film Grizzly Man, they say he was an ordinary young man until he went away to college. There, he claimed that he was a British orphan who was born in Australia. According to his account, he became a drug addict after he lost the role of Woody Boyd to Woody Harrelson in the sitcom Cheers.
He confesses in his book that his drug addiction grew from his alcoholism and after that experience, he knew he needed to do something with his life that was meaningful. A lover of all animals since he was a child, he traveled to Alaska to watch bears at the urging of a close friend. Treadwell writes that after his first encounter with a wild bear, he knew he had found his calling in life. Treadwell attributed his recovery from drug and alcohol addictions entirely to his relationship with bears.
Treadwell was to leave the park at his usual time of year, but extended his stay 1 week in an effort to locate a favorite female brown bear not seen earlier. He said he hated modern civilization and felt better in nature with the bears than he did in big cities around humans. He repeatedly said he hated humans too. The bears he had been used to during the summer had already gone into hibernation, and bears that Treadwell did not know from other parts of the park were moving into the area. The very last footage that shows Treadwell alive also shows a bear behind him; the bear had been diving into the river repeatedly for a piece of dead salmon. Treadwell mentioned in the footage that he did not feel entirely comfortable around that bear.
The next day, October 6, Willy Fulton, the Kodiak air taxi pilot, arrived at their campsite to pick them up but found the area abandoned except for a bear and contacted the local park rangers. The mangled remains of Treadwell and Huguenard were discovered quickly upon investigation. Treadwell's disfigured head, partial spine, and right forearm and hand, with his wrist watch still on, were recovered a short distance from the camp. Huguenard's partial remains were found next to the torn and collapsed tents, partially buried in a mound of twigs and dirt.

Male lions do the same thing when they take over a pride of females from another male. They kill the young cubs and then breed the females. ....but facts of nature doesn't count with liberals.

The reason liberal votes are concentrated in cities is that they are completely out of touch with reality. Maybe the population and pollution drive them crazy, or maybe crazy people gravitate toward other crazy people...but liberal politics are one of the best arguments I've ever seen for staying out of cities!!
