Been a long time DU reader, just to keep my blood pressure up. an occasional DU member till they tombstone me, and a recent reader of this site especially the Dumpster.
I've been a custom knifemaker for the past 6-7 years, and a builder in Tucson for 15, until clinton's policy of forcing the banks to give loans to any minority no matter what their financial situation finally collapsed the economy.
Anyway Hello, and I hope I'll be talking to you all in the Dumpster.

Welcome. I have a cousin that makes custom knives. He sells them but it's more of a hobby with him though.
I used to be in the grading business. Rode the realestate development, housing industry roller coaster for almost 40 years....I know what you're talking about.

I wish I could understand what the fascination is with the loony left. I suppose it's like watching a traffic wreck. You can't not look.
Except I can not look. I have enough squirrelly shit in my life. I don't need more of it -- except once in awhile, a lib wanders into one of these forums. Then it can get a little entertaining.

I checked out your website. Really nice knives! I am old school- I like the Bowie 2. My budget is more along the line of the Neck Knife. :-)

LOL I know what you mean, I can't afford some of my own knives either... The detail and hand work doing the fit and finish is the time consuming and expensive part of it. The high end knives require so much detail that I rarely make more than $5 an hour when I finally finish. Not a lucrative business, but people like them.Of course there is also the joy of standing in front of a 2300 degree forge in Tucson in August.
