Male Student Suspended for Wearing a Skirt

Boys cannot wear skirts, according to one Maryland high school that reportedly suspended a student for doing just that.

I wonder if this means they will suspend girls who wear pants? T-shirts? The list goes on and on.

Discrimination plain and simple.

This is why I believe in school uniforms. Kids are supposed to be learning at school, not participating in a fashion show.

...My God - I'm starting to sound old...   :bawl:

One of the high schools in my county had a similar problem a few years back. Male kid was wearing mini-skirts to school....and lace panties. His mom thought it was just great. Some women are just stupid/sick/crazy/moonbats.

I got no problem with boys wearing skirts to school provided the other students are allowed to mock, make fun of, and beat the crap out of him.

Calvert High School punished Warren Evans, who is bisexual, after he showed up wearing high heels, a mini skirt and a long black wig.

Kilts are sexy, don't try to involve them in this mess.  This kid was wearing a skirt.   :p

As I said - Uniforms. No skirts, kilts, burqas, shorts, cargo pants, jeans - etc etc for anyone regardless of gender or religious persuasion. problem solved.

My son's, girlfriend's, brother wore combat boots, kilt, long black coat and long turquoise hair to school everyday.

I could write a conversion bouncy about how my son has converted her to the right side of politics...but basically, she's a sweet girl. Just needed some guidance.

Agree here, much less expensive for the parents in the long run and when the kids outgrow their clothing it can be passed down to the younger kids in the family.   Takes away the what's a fad this year for the girls.

Pissed me off to hear one public school in Boston forbad any form of religious adornment for teachers and students, no Yakima's or star of David jewelery and no Crosses for the Christian students, But, the Muslim girls were allowed to wear their head scarves.

Our educational system still runs on the 300 year old concept of the one room school house mixing the students of all grades and sexes together.

Studies not that far in the past show that children get better grades when each grade is separated from each other and to no surprise the sexes were separated.    Female teachers for the girls, male for the boys.--------Definitely cuts down on teacher inappropriate behavior with their students.

I do believe that uniforms for the teachers helps when there is only 5-6 years difference in the ages of students and instructors.   A male of 17 a junior in highschool goes to a Math class taught by a 23 year old woman wearing a mini skirt and low cut blouse, a potential Susan Smart situation.

How is a male teacher of 23 to teach when the females are dressed in revealing clothing and all the teacher can see are all these almost legal girls T&A from his desk ??????

Why we ask do the Foreign schools or home schooled kids churning out kids better educated then those in American schools ????

Then the darn Liberal side---The parents cannot afford to buy school uniforms for their kids, the very kids that parents buy $200. sneakers and $300. jackets for, 18 C. gold chains and diamond earrings for.

Liberal side, My son will not wear a tie and jacket to school, My daughter cried all night at the thought of wearing the same thing as all the other girls.

When children dictate to parents and the school system how they dress, then get their way, Just who the hell is in charge here ??

I don't know. He likes everything German and claims he's communist. His mother is the angry, atheist, liberal type. The dad, not so bad. Son's girlfriend started coming to church with him in the beginning and now comes to church even on those Sundays he's away like this weekend (Boy Scouts, OA weekend).

Your son's girlfriend does sound like she has a good head on her shoulders.

SOMETIMES it works this way among siblings, even twins.  Rebelion on all sides.

Hendersonvill Tenn. home of the Stars in the 1980's .  My sister in law at 14 went to school with the identical twin daughters of a famous Country and Western singer.   ---I never knew or had any knowledge of him as a Yankee but darn the tour buses went past his home twice a day.

One weekend the twins family went out of state and somehow I found myself watching them.  Strange as I never met the parents , the kids just showed up with SIL one day and told I was their their watcher for the weekend.  No one asked me to watch them except for SIL and it was not a request from her it was a no questions asked, this is how we do things here.

Strange as I had no idea what was going on but went with the flow.  The Twins never spoke more then 4-5 words to me, each easiest to recognise as one dressed as butch the other as a Fem.

They spent the weekend in SIL's bedroom, never came out to eat, bathed late at night. What did I know about how things worked so far from home ???

Rebellion on all sides from the children even against each other.  MIL was NO help, any time I questioned what was going on, this good Christian woman who had never drank, smoked or swore  would tell me that as a Yankee I could not understand as I did drink, smoke and could swear as a Sailor.

So every day I got up made her daughter her lunch and had dinner on the table when she came home.  MIL went to work, and left for the singles bars and occasionally brought home men for the night.

Rebellion, nothing I could do about my SIL but I did get my butt back up North with my 2 kids to a normal life style.   Rebellion is actually normal when children have no idea of what is normal or abnormal.   Sad, the do as I say for my benefit but all hell breaks out when the kids copy the parents behavior.

Is it really rebelion when children learn from their observing the parents and doing so ??? Is it rebellion as parents do not want their children to follow in their foot steps ??? Insist that their children that know their own parents have been married 5 times or more stay celebrate????

Give me a break, the kids of the poor grow up with more morals then those of the wealthy in the Arts and politics. Darn but I feel sorry for the kids that are raised with money and parents fame.

Better to be raised in a poor family when the father a poor shoe maker teaches his trade to his children, a boat builder, a tinker or tailor, a farmer or black smith.

Still after all these years trying to understand the life style of the money and fame and why they send their kids to a head doctor to be annualised as to why they rebel and are so confused.

Why the middle class also need an excuse for their kids acting out. Is it he the fault of woman not being home to watch the kids and monitor their behavior ???  Is this the fault of strangers raising our children so both parents can work ?   Is this the fault of welfare mothers that depend on the system to raise their kids ?

Nope, many kids came from good family's ----our old time outlaws for instance, may just be human to rebel as a child------Who knows.

Many kids come from awful family's and go on to become responsible and well thought of people.

Exactly.

If I had turned up not wearing school tie or blazer I would have been disciplined - if I had turned up wearing a skirt goodness only knows what would have happened (I'm thinking of the other pupils here less than the teachers).
