Yesterday, I thanked Zoe Lofgren for helping my mother fight an illegal foreclosure.

(I'm not sure if this should go here in GD or in H&M)

Zoe sent a "Happy Mothers' Day" tweet and I thanked her in response.

I called her office to ask for help some months ago, and got a call right back. After two good long conversations with me and one with Mom, one of her staffers helped Mom by calling the bank in question. I don't know what happened during that conversation but the bank's behavior toward Mom changed. She got a real chance to fight the action and so far, she's winning now.

But, I wanted to suggest that anyone who has been helped in this way find an occasion to thank their representative. We have so little power against the banksters. But, we do have the ability to let our reps know that when they help us, we appreciate it.

Fwiw.

You need to get off of the DUngheap and go get a job and pay your fair share.

New.

Plenty of atta girlz to follow.

The fact that poor stupid Beth, aka sexphat, didn't say a word about the whole foreclosure being mistaken tells me dear ol' Mom is in arrears but there is some procedural hoop that Beth doesn't think the bank jumped through perfectly.

Pay your damn' bills on time and you don't have these kind of problems.

Well now, poor stupid Beth gave a detailed account of her mother losing her home about three years ago. It happened after the old lady took Beth's advice on managing her finances. It was also about the time poor stupid Beth was evicted from her apartment. That was when they moved into the camper in the desert. So this tale is either a total lie (most likely) or the "house" is the little camper they live in now.

She had a problem with the local governing authority wanting to either condemn or put a lien on the property. Something about the road frontage/right of way/washout or something or another. I can't recall the details.

And then poor stupid Beth bitched that possibly the inspectors were looking for a "gift," something under the table.

She lives in a blue county.

Duh.
