Title: This is how I know there is a God and he loves bunnies

Because when there is no reasonable expectation for joy He always gives me a reason to laugh:

Hollande in Retreat

Last edited Fri May 11, 2012, 12:28 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1)

François Hollande hasn’t even been sworn into office and already he’s backpeddling on his campaign promises....Hollande, who narrowly defeated Nicolas Sarkozy in the general election, has promised to renegotiate the EU’s notorious “fiscal pact” and to push a “pro growth” agenda to offset the effects of austerity measures which have thrust much of the continent back into recession. He now appears to be reversing his position in an effort to placate the markets.

Reuters: “Advisors are pressing him to pare back spending in certain areas, particularly the deficit-ridden social security system….”

And there’s more, too. The new French president is “planning reforms to improve France’s flagging competitiveness”….which means that he’ll be hectoring the trade unions for concessions on wages and benefits...

Hollande also promised to balance the budget in his first term. That’s going to make things a lot rougher on working people...

1. The socialist promised to balance the budget in his first term?

Jesus H. Christ... I guess I'm gonna have to go communist. Maybe that's where the liberals are...

OK, maybe it's not laughter so much as it's maniacal cackling, but still...

Whoa.

This is happening even before I said it would.

Somewhere on these pages franksolich predicted the primitives would turn on the new president of France around the end of May.

We aren't even halfway through May yet.

And by the way, the Greeks are having problems forming a government, because the popular vote had been so splintered they can't get a majority consensus on anything.  No consensus, no government.

Just like Belgium, which hasn't had a government since 2007.....

4. At least when Hollande says it...

there's a chance he might do it with higher taxes on the wealthy.

Hell, I could balance America's budget tomorrow: Eisenhower tax-rates and an end to the capital-gains exemption, reverting them back into ordinary income. We'd have a surplus to implement some awesome stimulus and social-welfare programs even.

Taxes are patriotic, **** yeah!

Clinton didn't need that and you idiots brag about Clinton balancing the budget written by Gingrinch.

9. Hollande isn't going to do squat

He never planned to. And the complicit union bureaucrats, same as here in the US, ensured their unconditional support to screw the workers.

Watch what happens. War against Syria? Hollande is already on board. Iran? On board. Rolling over de Gaulle's dead body to put France in a subservient NATO lackey role? On board.

Quote
Hollande ran on a right-wing program of slashing budgets to respect the pro-austerity European Union fiscal pact, while calling for an unspecified “growth component” of handouts to banks and strategic enterprises. He stated that he had no criticisms of Sarkozy’s foreign policy—which included wars in Afghanistan, Libya, Ivory Coast, and now Syria. He praised the “German model” of structural reforms to slash labor costs and improve French firms’ competitiveness on international markets at the expense of the workers.

...

Hollande’s narrow win over Sarkozy underscores the fact that his campaign found no enthusiasm among the working class. Particularly given Sarkozy’s deep unpopularity, it is all the more revealing that Hollande was barely able to defeat him.

...

http://www.wsws.org/articles/2012/may2012/fran-m07.shtml

There's some really sick stuff going on internationally but until the working class realizes how making deals with their exploiters, instead of categorically opposing them at every turn, nothing will change. And since the exploiters have an international bond, with international collaboration and mechanisms to enforce their exploitation, nothing less will give the workers a chance.

WSWS is shitting on Hollande?

Hey! Didn't Steves Dawes, who is running for Ward 1 City Council of Bellevue Nebraska also write for WSWS?

Obviously a slap at Obama.

Why is rug so racist?

Oh so wrong and once again simple arithmetic eludes the smarterest people on the interwebs.

Obama, the girl abuser, could take everything, their total wealth, from the evil 1% and that would only pay for one year of hist $1.5 trillion dollar 0bama deficits. Then what DUmbass?  They come to take everything from the 10% holds for another 6 months. Then what DUmbass?

I can't argue against this.  It's true; where there are gov'ts that continue to pile debt upon debt while seemingly not believing that eventually the whole thing falls apart, that's where the liberals are.
