MUD vs. Black Hills cost comparison.The analyzed average consumption for a home that uses natural gas as the primary fuel for space heating. For this type of usage, the average consumption in 2011 was about 85 decatherms. Factoring in service charges, MUD's GIR (gas infrastructure replacement), and the price per therm, the MUD bill is 21% lower ($826.96 divided by $682.33).
I have not even the slightest idea what this means, however I am willing to bet very good money OS doesn't either. Who wrote this for him (or rather, who did he steal it from?).

A MUD is a Multi User Dungeon that is played on a computer. Heard about them but never been on one and I am not even sure they exist after Ultima Online.

The answer's hidden in an obscure comment made by the big oaf a couple of weeks ago.
The big oaf admitted the change wouldn't lower heating costs.
MUD (Metropolitan Utilities District) would have to buy the infrastructure of Black Hills Energy that serves that part of Bellevue, and we're talking a big chunk of money, which of course would be paid back with that 20% "savings."
It's a wash. The big oaf's the only resident in Bellevue who thinks this is important.

Eight thousand residents of Elkhorn received the same savings under this law when it was annexed by Omaha. We can make the law lower our bills too. Vote DAWES!
Yeah, about that annexation. An entire town of 8,000 residents gets annexed by freakin Omaha (under great protest) and he is actually touting this as a platform???!

I was looking for the big oaf's comment admitting that a buy-out of the Black Hills Energy property serving that part of Bellevue wouldn't lead to a lowering of rates, but damn, when I do a "search" on him here, there's just way too much material to plough though.
