George Soros Is Giving $2 Million To Democratic SuperPACs

Legendary investor George Soros will give $1 million each to two left-leaning SuperPACs in the lead-up to national elections this fall, according to reports by the New York Times and the Financial Times.
The recipients of these donations—American Bridge 21st Century and America Votes—are expected to use these donations to support issues typically endorsed by Democrats. This is nothing new for Soros, who had previously made such donations, but his choice of SuperPACs does focus on grassroots rather than advertising.
Those reports say that American Bridge collects and disseminates election-oriented research and information on candidates, while America Votes organizes political work of pro-choice, environmental, and civil rights groups around the country.
The New York Times reports that Soros's gifts are part of a larger attempt by donors to fo focus on grassroots organizing rather than attempt to compete with conservative groups on advertising. The investor donated a full $23 million in 2004 in an attempt to defeat George Bush.
