One can regularly find DUmmies telling us we should all 'buy American', 'buy Union', etc., but we discover they don't practice what they preach.

Anyone ever tried mephisto shoes? I saw an ad about them in a women's magazine and just now googled them. They are very expensive
From the company profile “…MEPHISTO is one of the leading companies in France….â€
And they must not be as poverty stricken as they want us to believe, OR, they simply want us to think they really don't shop at WalMart.

20. They are very expensive, but if you have the money up front, it saves in the long run (Another reason why being poor sucks--you can't afford to do things that save money.) My husband swears by them, because he has a very hard to fit 9EEE foot. Mephisto has a really large range of sizes, and the shoes outlast cheaper brands by quite a bit.

19. I haven't tried them I have recently discovered Naots--love love love them! Also expensive, but my feet don't hurt anymore.
Naots by Yaleet, Inc., is a company in Israel.
There are a couple of other brands in the thread, but no one mentions SAS, which IS made in the USA.

I always look for the Chinese label myself... :rotf:
Not really. I tell the wife I need some shoes and she buys them....simple. :-)

Seriously?
What exactly is "size 9EEE"?
For purposes of comparison, franksolich wears both 10 and 10.5 (the feet bloat once in a while), so this is something just a little bit littler than that, right?

I wear a 10 1/2 W. That used to be a 10 1/2 C or average width foot. The wife tells me that width now is stated as narrow, wide and extra wide....but then what do I know. I haven't been in a shoe store and fitted for shoes in 25 years.

Oh.
9EEE is bordering on an elephant's foot.

Shoe size 9EEE would be what the LVL wore in his elementary school days, as he grew to his current 15EEEEEE.
Very rare, which is why the LVL wears boxes meant for toilet seat lids.
Ten million years from now, a paleontologist will stumble across a set of Kirk's tracks, and announce the discovery of a new species.
