Save a corporation, cut meals on wheels
Yup, republican logic.

(The house is going after that socialist program put in place by that socialist Jerry Ford...oh how far right we have drifted)

Still suck on stupid.

The one thing nads knows about is meals. It is obvious she never missed one. Maybe even had three in a row a few times. The fat cow.

It's obvious the money she has saved in haircuts over the years was invested heavily in food.

Is she talking about food trucks?  Those are the only meals on wheels I am aware of and I don't eat from them.

I think she is referring to the program that delivers meals to senior citizens.  As far as I know it is a charity and not a government agency, so it seems like Nadin is wrong .  AGAIN!!!!

Moving to protect the military from a crippling wave of budget cuts next year, a key House committee voted Monday to cut instead food aid, health care and social services like Meals on Wheels, which could affect people in Northwest Indiana.

The measure would require federal employees to contribute more to their pensions, saving taxpayers more than $80 billion over the coming decade, while illegal immigrants would be denied tax refunds from the $1,000 per-child tax credit. There’s no companion legislation moving in the Democratic-controlled Senate, and the proposal doesn’t stand a chance of making it to President Barack Obama’s desk for signature.

I can't find any reference to Republicans attempting to stop the Meals on Wheels program.  It seems to be a great, self-sustaining program that delivers meals to house-bound elderly people.  Notice how she is unable to provide a link to support her claims; once again, nadin is full of shit.

Change "denying tax refunds from the $1,000/child tax credit to illegal immigrants" to "denying tax refunds, PERIOD, to illegal immigrants" and you'd have a winner.  If they are not in the country legally, then they legally have no claims on the withholding they paid to the IRS, Social Security number or not.

York County Maine.

The Hospital itself in the small town of York Maine has a life saver of a program----or at least did a few years ago.

If you live within a figured out number of miles from the hospital  a big full meal will be delivered to your home.  Cost was about $5.00 and for the elderly, that meal was big enough to feed them for 2-3 days.

Times have changed, it was at one time the patients dreded staying in the hospital as the food was gross. NOT SO TODAY.    Soup to nuts, salad entree and desert all for about $7.00 bucks in the cafateria for staff and visitors. Lunch and breakfast cheaper.

Had a complaint from an acquaintence that her boyfriend was so cheap he took her out to dinner at our local hospial.

Meals on Wheels I know nothing about who fiances it or how it is run.

I get these begging e-mail and snail mail from organizations that are tear jerkers about the need to feed the elderly over seas.  SD. Indian resevations send me quite a bit of mail, seem the USA is starving the elderly on the reservations up there.

What does Nads think, she may visit Europe, walk into her hotel, turn on the TV and see ads to request the old timers in Chicago USA need donations to feed them ?????

Thing that drives my thong up too far are the Ads for our Vets that are injured in battle and for some reason the Government is ignoring them.  Govenment spends a few billion to build just one plane yet will not pay for the cost to give a Vet. a new arm or leg.??????

Get Nads on to this, why is she not out rebel rousing about our troops and their needs ????------could she be worried that husband may put his retirement in jeopardy ????

.....once again, nadin is full of shit.

One can pretty much come to that reasonable conclusion right after seeing her screen-name but before the eyes roll down to read the message.  It's a no-brainer.

Lack of shampoo and showers have also saved lots of money for her.

At least here in Missouri, the "Meals on Wheels" program is funded in part by contributions, and the remainder is financed by a grant from the State.  All of the people who do the preparation and distribution are volunteers.  One had to qualify for the program by being over 65 and "housebound", and not receiving any form of welfare or food stamps.

The grant from the State only pays for the physical foodstuff, all the rest is covered by voluntary contributions and labor, even delivery is accomplished in the volunteer's personal vehicles (or those owned by the senior citizen's center).  Fuel is paid out of the contribution fund.

Our MIL was on it when she was living on the farm, and although systems vary by county, she was delivered a seven-day supply of pre-prepared meals once weekly.......sufficient for two hot meals a day, plus cereal and bread and orange juice for breakfast.  I'm intimately aware of their finance structure, as when we tried to enroll her, they couldn't guarantee delivery due to the fact that where she lived was accessable during some periods only by a 4WD vehicle......the senior center owned an ancient Jeep Cherokee, which didn't run, so to get her on the program, we paid the bill to have the engine replaced.

To my knowledge there are no federal funds involved, unless the state contribution is just a pass-through of a federal grant.  I would consider federal involvement unlikely, as the meals did not follow federal dietary guidelines.  Lots of "politically incorrect" food was included, they were actually fairly good.  The fried chicken that was served on Friday was legendary........

Nads is full of crap.......
