Have you ever wondered what Republicans & Libertarians mean by "freedom"?

Are they talking about slavery? Are they talking about 1st amendment rights, or 2nd amendment rights? Are they talking about releasing every person from jail and prison?
They say that liberals and Democrats have taken away the country's "freedom", yet gun control laws are fairly loose nationwide, we still have the right to free speech, and slavery is still illegal. Furthermore, last time I checked, we're not the ones who have been introducing countless anti-abortion and anti-birth control laws around the country.

This explains a lot, the DUmmies have no idea what freedom is. They think freedom is a bunch of free stuff. Freedom is having the right to live our own lives the way we see fit with minimal government intrusion. This includes economic freedom, meaning if we earn a dollar we get to take most of that dollar and spend it how we see fit, not handing over most of it so it can be spent on buying votes by handing out free birth control to Sandra Fluke.

I'd also like to know what laws are we trying to pass that are anti birth control. We aren't for the taxpayer giving everyone free beer does that mean we are for Prohibition?

1. Everything that we consider freedom they miscontruct into some kind of slavery,

e.g., union membership, civil rights laws, universal health care, food stamps, government services, such as public health, the court system and infrastructure support, all of which support these folks who want to diss them all the time.

I guess they think that no government is the best government. I can see them filling their own street's potholes now....

That's why you are backwards, having the government control every aspect of your life is not freedom. Freedom is being in control of your own life. Looks like I was right when I said their definition of freedom is a bunch of free stuff.

2. Freedom to do whatever the hell I want to you.

Whenever the hell I want to?

Let's take a look at this, which group is constantly wanting to control the other group? Which group wants freedom of speech curtailed if it offends someone? Which group wants to dictate what food we eat, what cars we drive, how much money we can have? So basically it is the left that wants the "freedom" to do whatever the hell they want to when they want to. We on the otherhand just want to be left the hell alone and leave you the hell alone.

3. Freedom to not pay taxes

or to not give a shit about anyone else but themselves (and perhaps their family).

Freedom to pay reasonable taxes and freedom to be able to take care of ourselves and our families, then help out those we choose to if we choose to do so. Conservatives are more apt to donte to charity than liberals are, yet libs claim they care so much.

6. That is an excellent question...

They are always saying that the Republican Party stands for "freedom" and "opportunity"?? It sounds good but I doubt if they have any idea what they are talking about??

We know exactly what we are talking about, it is you who has no understanding of freedom.

20. I'd like to see the freedom for consenting adults to smoke a ****ing plant in their own homes

if they want, and I'm a Democrat.

Tobacco is a "****ing plant" yet you liberals pretty much want that outlawed.

They are clueless, no wonder they are so eager to trade freedom just so someone else can take care of them.

To give the DUmmies one glaring example; prior to having to "pass it to find out what's in it" I had the personal freedom to choose whether or not I wanted to buy an expensive health care insurance plan. Every American citizen has enjoyed this freedom since 1776, but Pelosi, Reid, Obama, and the rest of the Democrat fascists took that freedom away from me. Now I will be violating the law if I don't sign a contract under duress that I don't want to be part of. I have bitterly hated the left since that day, and won't forgive even after the hideous monstrosity is either tossed out by the SCOTUS or repealed.

This is why DUmmies are surprised when they lose. They live in a world of propaganda and shut out the truth.
Sun Szu wrote a book on warfare. One of the rules is to know your enemy. DU doesn't know us. They have no clue. Why do you think they have threads (Dear Republicans)about how we Republicans are squirming in agony over the bin Laden anniversary?

This is a slightly old thread, but I think an important one.  Let's see how well they know us:

17. Free dumb. They want to be stupid, ignorant, careless, reactionary, and not be held responsible

Freedom is the right and ability to instantly act on impulse in response to advertisements.

23. Freedom at a superficial level.

If you don't use critical thought, their version of freedom is really freedom.
   :???:  That's deep, man.

Not very well.  That gives us a huge advantage in The Art of War.

As an aside, I think that Jamaal is shaping up to be the DUmbest DUmmie of 2012.  He's always asking the stupidest questions.  Seems harmless enough, just DUmb.

What does he mean by slavery still being illegal? Does he want slavery back? If that is the case, then he would following his party line. It is the Dems who are the racists and wanted to keep slavery. It also the dems who had the highest majority of votes against the civil rights act.

I want to see these anti-abortion bills and anti-birth control bills laws he is talking about. Bring it mouth, show your proof. I bet it is from something you heard on MSNBC. That wouldn't surprise me at all.

They don't know how to think for themselves, so the thought of them even holding a thought is beyond comprehension.

The left is all about removing your right to heat and cool your home, drive the car of your choice, smoke, drink, eat what you want, have as many children as you want and raise them as you choose (within reason, of course), limiting your educational choices to the public schools they support, taking the use of your land for anything the EPA doesn't like, forcing you to wear helmets and seat belts...yet they actually consider any limits on the ability to murder your child a reduction in freedom.  I'm still amazed by their absolute blindness to their own hypocrisy.

I find it interesting that the only 2 things in life that people are smart enough to be in control of, is their sex lives and aborting any mistakes, everything else in life requires an oversight committee to decide for you.  :banghead:

We know what "freedom" is to Marxist/socialist/0bamaite DUmmies: A life free of consequence. A life free of merit. A life free of accomplishment.

Republicans did not pass, nor did they vote for the one bill that took away freedom recently. I lost freedom thanks to you assholes and your fascist ideology. As stated prior, you left wingers won't leave people the **** alone, and every once in a while it gets so bad people have to shoot a bunch of you to get their freedom back. That is the reason for both why we have a 2nd amendment and why you jerks want to get rid of it.

Jeez, you'd think these assclowns have never heard of Judge Learned Hand.  Oh wait--they probably haven't.

Quote
I often wonder whether we do not rest our hopes too much upon constitutions, upon laws and upon courts. These are false hopes; believe me, these are false hopes. Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it; no constitution, no law, no court can even do much to help it. And what is this liberty which must lie in the hearts of men and women? It is not the ruthless, the unbridled will; it is not freedom to do as one likes. That is the denial of liberty, and leads straight to its overthrow. A society in which men recognize no check upon their freedom soon becomes a society where freedom is the possession of only a savage few; as we have learned to our sorrow.

The liberal care more about the life of a murderer than they do a child. The liberals care more about the life of a bird than they do a child, the liberals care more about the life of a tree than they do a child. The liberals care more about the life a stream than than they do a child. Save the life of all things listed above, but yet kill any child you wish. Hypocrites.

They really are obtuse, deliberately I would guess. It seems fairly obvious to me based on the positions taken by either side that the idea of 'freedom' in the conservative mind is that of reaffirmation of those freedoms given by God and supported and reiterated in the Constitution. None of us expect or want freedom from obligations or work, but anytime I look and see the position of liberals their idea of freedom is one that basically involves them indulging their every whim with no consequence or regard for responsibility and support of living a life like that. They don't ever seem to get the freedom to live with a hedonistic lifestyle does not mean the freedom to live it free of the consequences of health, financially or otherwise, and well-being.

Interestingly, their party of the 'free' can never adequately address the issue of what happens of the slaves they make of the people who 'follow the rules' and have to forgo their own whims in order to support people who are indulging them their whims? Apparently, freedom is quite subjective in the liberal handbook. It seems to me liberals want their freedom to do anything they want as long as they are not the chattle used to support that freedom. Freedom for me, but not for thee. They envision themselves the Egyptian royalty to our Jewish slaves.
