Title: Poll: how long before.....
Post by: franksolich on May 14, 2008, 05:31:59 AM
Okay, the situation as of this morning is that there are still 189 Democrat delegates to be selected.

Barack Obama needs at least 16 of those, to be assured the nomination before the Democrat National Convention.

Hillary Clinton needs at least 175 of those, to be assured the nomination before the Democrat National Convention.

It's a pretty sure thing Obama's going over the top in the Oregon primary this next week.

How long before the primitives start complaining about Obama?

modified to add word "poll" to title

I picked before, but in all reality when talking about DUmpmonkeys you should have a "All" button.  :-)

Is Or. open primary?

I dunno; I'm sure we'll find out shortly, from someone.

The Kentucky primary is that same day; Kentucky for some reason got lost in all the running around.

Okay, Mosh, sir, I just checked it out.

Both the Kentucky and Oregon primaries are closed.

The Oregon primary is done solely by U.S. mail, and ballots were mailed out two weeks ago.  They have to be returned, and will be counted, on May 20, next Tuesday.

One has to have registered as a Democrat by April 29, 2008, to vote in that primary.

In the Kentucky primary, one has to have been registered as a Democrat "28 days before" the date of the primary (again, May 20, next Tuesday), to vote in that primary.

I assume Kentucky is done by in-person voting.

The other thing you need to know about the primitives: You should keep a gallon of Chlorox handy for washing out your eyes after reading excerpts from the DUmp.  :o

If you changed party affiliation before a certain date you could vote in the dem primary here. I didn't bother because OR is so enamoured with Obamasama that he'll probably win here by a landslide. Vote by mail is convenient but there's something about actually going to a polling place that makes one feel more part of the process.

There is no "All the Above" box.

I gave them ten minutes to let the news percolate through to their tiny little minds.   :cheersmate:
