Some of them are pretty nasty. I hope the lady gets her money. Although I would have sued them for more.

I suspect she'll have a hard time collecting a single dime of it.  But I do wish her luck.

The debt wasn't even her's to begin with.

Yeah, they will probably file for bankruptcy to get out of it. The loser companies.

Perhaps.  I don't know if one can file bankruptcy in order to get out of paying damages on this sort of case.

Even if they do, she will have successfully shut down a corrupt company, which I suspect might suit her just fine.

They may shut down. But what's to say that they don't open another one under a different name?

Everyone who defaults on a loan steals money from the depositors that held off making personal purchases in order to save their money in a bank.

In this case the woman in the OP didn't default on a loan.
