It might also be interesting to speculate on how Socialist Steve would be getting along if he had to depend on private sector employment.

Government employment is made to order for deadbeats like the big guy.

That's why his political philosophy, as described on his lame site (not the better one developed by his friends), is that the prime responsibility of government is to provide jobs.

I think the big guy's given up.

Campaigning's hard work, and he's seen what the other three have been doing. The big guy wasn't aware it's so much work; he'd hoped to sit on his ass and have other people do the work for him.

Also, the big guy had entertained fantasies of dollar bills floating in the air towards him, but that hasn't happened either. It never occurred to him that if he wanted others to "invest" in him, he should've taken care to "invest" himself, instead of going out and buying that big fancy television set and renting tuxedoes for the superlarge.

I could be wrong, but it looks to me as if he's finished, three weeks before the primary.

The big guy misunderestimated how many bucks would flow in from other pockets.

I think that was a mistake last autumn, when the big guy and Marta bought that supersized superdeluxe television set, which probably would cover at least a part of the printing expenses.

The big guy had already decided to run when that purchase was made.

I can still see it; Marta reminding him, "But dear, we have to save money for your campaign--remember, nobody's going to invest in you until you invest in yourself first."

And then the big guy; "Not to worry, dear; my 100,000 friends on Skins's island will pay the printing bill."

I expect the campaign signs the morning of May 16 are headed to the recycle bin.
