This true life cowboy appeared in over 300 movies. He was an extra, a double, a supporting star, and a lead actor.
This one should be easier for everyone.......
Who was this cowboy actor with the western drawl?
-
Tom Mix? or Roy Rogers?
-
I'll say Alan Ladd since he was mentioned in the previous 1.
-
Nope, sorry. He died in the mid-1990s.
-
I'm thinking Ben Johnson.

Eupher is correct! :cheersmate:

You know, I could see the guy in my mind, hear his drawl (he was originally from Oklahoma), but I could NOT remember his name until I let the bats loose up in my belfry. They fluttered around up there until they jarred that name loose. Great actor - especially liked his portrayal of Pepper in John Wayne's "Chisum".

But you said to not post these things about Hollyweird people! He certainly didn't fit that description, but he was definitely a movie star.

Yeah, just because I might remember Ben Johnson doesn't put me in the I-adore-Hollyweird Club. Just sayin' that there are more options other than actors. You're doing a good job with this -- just thought we could consider some people from history as opposed to celebrities.

I never heard of Ben Johnson either.

Watch the movie "Chisum". He has a major supporting role in that film. Classic Ben Johnson.

Well don't feel bad the only one I ever heard of is a little obscure:
Benjamin "Ben" Jonson (c. 11 June 1572 – 6 August 1637) was an English Renaissance dramatist, poet and actor. A contemporary of William Shakespeare, he is best known for his satirical plays, particularly Volpone, The Alchemist, and Bartholomew Fair, which are considered his best,[1] and his lyric poems. A man of vast reading and a seemingly insatiable appetite for controversy, Jonson had an unparalleled breadth of influence on Jacobean and Caroline playwrights and poets.

Wrong! I wouldn't do that. Besides, the one you posted's name in spelled incorrectly, and I don't think there were movies back in the 1500s and 1600s.
