Title: Post timestamps
Post by: EagleKeeper on April 24, 2012, 06:16:49 PM
Is it just me or is there a problem with the way tmestamps are being assigned to posts?

Edit: this one got 3:16:49 pm when it is 7:18 ET.

I think when Rebel set up conservativecave in late December 2007, he set it up based upon some time zone out west.  I'm not sure why, but that's what happened.

One gets used to it.

Right now, the real time of this post is 6:20 p.m. central time.

Thanks Coach, I think I found the deal.

In the User CP there is an option to choose time offset, I'll play with that.

Whoa.

Wait.

What?

One can choose one's time here?

I thought it was set in granite, and so adjusted to it a long time ago.

That was it, in my case the offset is 4 hours.

Eastern time, I assume.

I suspect part of the deal was resentment over that my fellow alum Skins acknowledges both eastern time and Pacific time, but refuses to acknowledge the existence of central time and mountain time, when giving his sonorous announcements.

That's why when I personally quote times, I quote only central and mountain times, so as to ameliorate the omission by Skins.

Yes, I'm 4 here but on other boards I'm -5, 3 etc.

Yes, I'm 4 here but on other boards I'm -5, 3 etc.

But it's the greater part of valor to just live with it; accept, adapt, and move on.

That's why I never worried much about the time difference here.
