Mitt Romney, guilty of voter fraud?
Posted on April 17, 2012
Mitt Romney faces up to five years in jail and a $10,000 fine if he did not live in his son’s unfinished basement in 2010
In January 2010 the former Massachusetts governor proudly cast a ballot for Republican Scott Brown in the special election to replace the late Sen. Ted Kennedy. He didn’t own property in the state at the time, and had registered to vote listing his son’s unfinished basement as his residence. Massachusetts law defines a residence for voter registration purposes as “where a person dwells and which is the center of his domestic, social, and civil life.†Anyone found guilty of committing voter fraud faces up to five years behind bars and a fine of $10,000.http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/23/romney-voter-fraud-allegations-loom-as-general-election-liability/
Is this exactly like that ‘voter fraud‘ thing that the Republicans are always trying to pretend the Democrats participate in? Except that the Democrats don’t?
Mitt Romney’s motto: vote early and vote often!

If that’s true, Romney showed a true commitment to voting for Republican Senator Scott Brown in last year’s special election, since he owns a $12.5 million home in La Jolla, Calif. and a $10 million home in New Hampshire’s Lake Winnipesaukee – but no home in the state he was once governor.
Not that he was exactly roughing it. Romney’s son Tagg and his wife greatly improved the property in recent years adding an in-ground pool and a jacuzzi to the rebuilt property that spans three old lots, bumping its assessed value up to $3.8 million.
Still, as Belmont, Mass. property assessment records I dug up show, the basement is unfinished – hardly the standard the former investment banker would be used to. Here’s a portion of the property record (Belmont Property View). http://blogs-images.forbes.com/brendancoffey/files/2011/06/Belmont-Property-View.pdf I have edited the image to highlight the basement description. Here is the full record: http://blogs-images.forbes.com/brendancoffey/files/2011/06/Belmont-Property-View-full.pdf Belmont Property View full. As a public record you can find the full report also through the town of Belmont here. The property was last inspected by the town on June 21, 2010, well after the state’s January special election that filled Ted Kennedy’s old seat.
Of course, as Karger argues to the Massachusetts Secretary of State, Romney likely didn’t live in the basement, so it appears like voter fraud, a crime punishable by up to five years in jail and a $10,000 fine.

The local fishmonger told Karger, “They flew the coop. They moved to California. I haven’t seen Mrs. Romney in over two years, and she used to come in here all the time.†Likewise, churchgoers used to worshiping with the Romneys told Karger that they also hadn’t seen the Romneys in a couple years. Yet the Romneys continued to vote in Massachusetts, including in the January 2010 special election to fill Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat. Karger says he even received personal confirmation from Ann Romney about the couple’s living arrangements. In April, Karger says he ran into her in Las Vegas at a meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition, where Mitt was speaking. According to Karger, Ann told him they are living in California.

Here we go folks, the sooper sleuths at the DUmp have found dirt on Romney.

9. Now let's imagine Obama did this
The pitchfork and torch crew would be outside the White House tonight.
:whatever:

29. Did he pay taxes in MA?
That's one good question that he could easily answer.
John Kerry didn't bother to pay his taxes on his boat, in fact he registered it in another state to pay less taxes, of course that was fine and dandy at the DUmp.

I dunno what the rich bitch's bitching about.
When Bob Kerrey reconsidered his decision about running for the U.S. Senate from Nebraska, and decided to, he was a resident of New York. He then registered as a voter in Nebraska, using the Omaha residence of one of his sisters as his address.
Which apparently was aboveboard and legal.
But that then brought up something else, something likely to help him lose in November.
Bob Kerrey's wife is from New York, and does not care for Nebraska. I dunno why; she's never been out here all the years they've been married (maybe about 15 years?--she's his second wife). She's made it plain and clear that even if Bob wins (not likely), she will not move to Nebraska, nor their 10-year-old son. She fully intends to continue living in New York.
After which Bob Kerrey announced that if elected, he too will continue living in New York.
This is not going over very well; what does New York have that Nebraska doesn't?
The good things, I mean. Forget all the bad things New York has.
Bob Kerrey's been back here a few times--a few times--to campaign. She's never come out here with him.
I suspect this is going to balloon into a bigger issue than it currently is, and currently it's pretty big.

It's not illegal to vote in one state even if your residency is questionable. It would be illegal to vote in MORE than one state. Maybe the libs don't get that slight nuance of the law.

Mitt is legs. This has toast!!

Mitt and his wife appear to have owned a lot of property in Belmont - Mitt still owning property he purchased in 1989.

Don't own property, you can't vote.....suits the hell outta me.

Belmont Town Clerk Ellen O’Brien Cushman said that year that the residency claim was legal, akin to the situation when an elderly parent moves into the home of their child.
She also produced a history of Romney’s continuous voter registration in Belmont, dating back to 1972. And O’Brien Cushman documented his voting history since a state primary on Sept. 14, 1976.

Boston Globe has already debunked this story.

And if the GLOBE debunks it, then you know you don't have jack.

Exactly my thought, If The Globe can't make it work for the Democrats, nobody can.

Give the media unlimited access to the ObamaStash(TM) and they could probably "solve" half of the Klan lynchings of the early 20th century, simply by indicating which Romney ancestors were in the area at the time.
