Title: Pedro goes fishing.

Goin' primal! Caught my own dinner tonight.

Freakishly warm in New England today, so I decided to do some fishing. No snow this winter, so the lake is still way below where it should be. By like 5 feet. Anyway, after a couple of bad casts, I changed lures and immediately landed two very nice small mouth bass, each about 14". So I recalled my old skills and filleted those bad boys, sautéed them, and served 'em for dinner. Only thing I paid for was the salad and some garlic & olive oil. I could do this on a regular basis. Fishing is way more fun than a trip to the supermarket.

I figured our old friend Pedro needed some attention from the 12 of us here.

We have Trout up the wazoo, my Husband is grilling it now. I don't eat fish.

It sounds like he did extra work. Not only did he have to go and catch the fish, but he still made that trip to the grocery store to get the salad fixings.

If he really went primal he would have made salad from plants in his yard.  :-)

Pedro Picasso went fishing like franksolich went hunting.

Nothing against either sport; of course not.

Pedro Picasso knows that fishing gets the hands dirty, and while sitting in a boat, one might fall out into the ick, dirty water.

As for franksolich and hunting, it's just easier to go to the grocery store.

Pedro Picasso was probably just sitting on the beach, idle from unemployment and after having an argument with his bacon-home-bringing wife.

Sounds like DUmmy Pedro McGrath is really pounding the pavement, trying to find a job to provide for his family.

With his education and talents, he's qualified to be a motel night clerk, or a Jiffy Lube team leader, or maybe a convenience store clerk.

Face it, he couldn't cut it as the lowest-rated cartoonist at the lowest-rated junk mail firm.

All those jobs are infinitely more honorable than his current deadbeat existence. Then again, he's a democrat.

What do you wanna bet that now that he's caught it...he doesn't know what to do with it and will seek advice from the recipe guru's at the DUmp.

Hope he doesn't incur the wrath of the PETA freaks over there for catching that harmless innocent fish.

Where does this asshat live? Bass season don't start here until the 3rd Sat in June. The fish are spawning for the next 2 months and it is extremely unsportsmanlike and illegal to rip them out of bed now. Not to mention how easy they are to catch at this time. Even a DUmbass could hook one now. Oh wait.

Why are all the unemployed from 500 miles around not headed for MD. to go get a few bushells of Snake Heads and claim a $200 gift certificate from the state ????

Darn the kids and I would just get a freaking stick with line and some chicken necks and sit on the bank in VA and pull in washtubs of blue crabs and sell them in the Ghettos for spending money.

There has to be some way these Bass eating monsters can become a staple on dinner plates.

Major problem with these critters, the can wiggle about on dry land for 4 days at a time going from lake to lake.   One cannot just catch the damn things one has to behead them for a kill.

Great lakes has a problem with ---is it Asian Carp-----have to catch the damn things--re-name them and make them taste good.

I suggested to Hubby we load up the Jeep with tent and head for MD and fish our ass off for a week or so.  Some one will get $200 bucks why not us.   Sort of a working vacation.

So far I do not know if one has to use a pole or line to get the suckers, can deep nets be used, we know all other species can be caught in the nets BUT we can restock our lakes when then the fish from hell are removed.

Make them taste good and by golly, much unemployed will have a dream job.   If we can make Lobster with a bit of butter and lemon taste great,  we can do so with invasive species.

If not to taste appeal to Americans, how about Asia,  A fantastic idea for any sea food company that can find a buyer and see the opportunity here.

Lemons are one thing, lemonaid is great.  Seize the day, wipe out the enemy with capitalism and self reliance.

He's somewhere up your way.

You guys can have your freshwater fish. Grouper season started at the 1st of this month and Wahoo and Dolphin are always in season.    :yum:

Eastern Connecticut.

Pedro Picasso has two houses, one in town and another on some lake-front property.

I'm assuming he's talking about his luxurious second digs here, out on the private lake.

According to Backwoodssportsman.com, regarding season dates for small and largemouth bass in Connecticut:

April 14 2012 - June 8 2012
Largemouth & Smallmouth Bass Catch & Release Season
Lakes and Ponds Statewide

He's EATING THEM!  Highly illegal, against regulations, and against environmental conservation.  You should be f***ing ashamed of yourself, Pedro.

Uh huh.

I still think he had an argument with the wife, and went from his first digs in town to his second digs on the lake, to contemplate upon his boorish behavior.

But Pedro Picasso didn't want to say that, so made up this story about fishing.

Pedro Picasso fishing is about as likely as franksolich surfing.

If the lake is at his second home, and is entirely on his property, would State regulations be applicable?  I know that, on the apartment complex where we are (for another month-and-a-half, anyway), residents don't need NYS fishing licenses.

No, private does not trump state regs at least in NYS. It appears bass is open all year long in Ct so he wasn't breaking any laws. In my book its savage to rip a fish off its bed and take it home and eat it. Of course we are talking about people that have no problem ripping human babies out of their mothers womb!

Way to go there Rambo. I see you impressed the mostly retarded occupants of DU with your mad skills. To bad you didn't fall into the lake and managed to get yourself a bath for once. Well then again if you had just fell into the lake we could call that even.
