I used to bump my head on every Friday the 13th...but haven't done so for 10 years now.
Yeah its all a myth. But post on my thread and I'll do something nice for you when i get back from work. I would say its a surprise but I've done this too many times to for anyone to say, "Wow! I never expected the Mannn to do that before!"
Anywho, Happy Friday!

I've never ascribed any particular malignant thing to Friday the 13th.
My favorite older brother was born on Friday the 13th.
But it does cause one to pause. I'm thinking of the case of a British ship (maybe the 18th century?--not sure) that was named the HMS Friday, and launched on Friday the 13th.
After it went out to sea, it utterly evaporated; was never heard from, or seen, again.
-
Ooops, I'm wrong.
Sorry.
HMS Friday is an urban myth concerning a disastrous attempt by the Royal Navy to dispel the superstition against sailing on a Friday. While widely circulated, the story is in fact untrue; moreover, there was never a ship named HMS Friday
The details of the story vary, but it usually follows this form:
Sometime in the 19th century, the Royal Navy attempted to finally dispel the old superstition among sailors that beginning a voyage on a Friday was certain to bring bad luck. To demonstrate the falseness of this belief, they decided to commission a ship named HMS Friday. Her keel was laid on a Friday, she was launched on a Friday, and she set sail on her maiden voyage on a Friday, under the command of a Captain James Friday. She was never seen or heard from again.
This story, in numerous variations, is frequently recounted, often as fact.
In fact, there has never been any Royal Navy ship of that name. It is unclear where the story originated; however, it seems to have gained in popularity after its recounting by comedian Dave Allen on his BBC television show Dave Allen at Large, first broadcast in the 1970s.

don't believe in that shit at all........I only believe in God
-
Superstitious? No.
-
Not superstitious about Friday the 13th. I can screw up on any day, and have something great happen on any day.
-
Didn't even notice until you mentioned it.
(My work schedule means that "my Friday" began in the early evening of the 12th. Been off work for about 5 hours and it's basically the weekend to me.)

I dunno if it's superstition or traits born out of habit. I always wear a suit & tie to funerals. Prefer to sit facing a doorway vs having my back to it. I always arrange Bills in my wallet so the dead presidents are facing forward and not standing on their heads.

yeah, that is OCD. I am like that also. Including when I drive. I am sure to not cross lines, so a drive out of my way to make sure I make one continuous line to and from where I am going. The only exceptions are when I am going over or under a bridge.

I was born on friday the 13th. At one time my callsign was heavily leaning towards "Jason".
-
No, but, ex wife(Satans sister) was born on Friday the 13th, so I 'm starting to rethink that.
-
Not superstitious but I do believe in karma. That is not the same thing, right?
-
I don't walk under ladders, but that to me is more common sense than superstition.
-
I never let a black cat cross my path.

OCD
The bills in the wallet thing may be. I just think it's easier & quicker to grab a bill if you know what and where it is beforehand. Since the advent of Debit cards I don't so much anymore but was a time I carried a couple hundred at a time. Never did like writing checks except for record keeping.
If I have a pen in my shirt pocket, which is most the time,It's on the right side of the pocket.

I never post on the internet on Friday the 13th . . . oh CRAP!!
:panic: :runaway: :overreaction: :ohnoes:

I sit backwards on the toilet.

Thank you for responding to the thread, Hi 5's for everyone!
I survived the day and now await a night full of predicted thunderstorms with a potential for tornadoes.
Had a great review at work, and all in all it was a pretty lucky day.
but then the night is young....

I usually treat it like a mini-Halloween and watch a scary movie. When I was a kid, I would read scary comic books on Friday the 13th.
But today I hardly noticed. I have a busy day tomorrow so not much time for movies today. Plus it is so close to Tax Day that I think Tax Day sucks all the fear out of Friday the 13th.

I like Friday the 13th. It's usually been good luck for me.
Today hasn't been bad.

Ooops, I'm wrong.
Sorry.
Dave Allen at Large! I used to love that show!
Anyway, Friday is named for Freya, the goddess of love in Norse and Germanic myths. And we all know what happens when love goes awry. Just ask Troy.
