Omaha Steve
Judge: Internal police probes private
Source: Omaha World Herald
By Todd Cooper
Add internal affairs investigators to the list of people — priests, spouses, lawyers — you can talk to without fear that your words will be used against you in court.
Douglas County District Judge Duane Dougherty ruled that a man who was kicked and gang tackled by officers will not be able to refer in court to the Omaha Police Department's internal affairs investigation into the controversial arrest.
Robert Wagner — whose violent takedown prompted the firing of two police officers — has no plans to appeal the judge's decision, his attorney said.
Rather, Wagner, 36, is anxious to show that he did not hit anyone before the officers gang tackled him, attorney Glenn Shapiro said.

This is one area he is consistent with as he also supports and advocates for cop killers doesn't he?

Oh man.
I suspect the big guy's doomed to work for the waterworks forever now, no transfer to a cushy job with the police department. The big guy's shot himself in the feet, in the knees, in the balls, in the stomach, in the chest, in the neck, in the teeth.
-
He's back to "playing it safe" by posting news stories with no comment, as if his posting them doesn't somehow register his endorsement of the topic.
Steve Dawes - Socialist - Candidate - Bellevue City Council - Ward 1 - Bellevue NE is a CHICKENSHIT SOCIALIST COWARD.

-
You know, the big guy was hoping to get transferred out of waterworks into a cushier job with the police, and now I'm wondering if that request has been denied, and so the big guy's on an anti-cop kick now.

Ah, nice observation. That could be it totally. He will have to explain that now as it was in his article. Frank does Bellevue have a candidate's night? (which is usually sponsored by a chamber of commerce type of committee).

I haven't seen one advertised, but I expect so.
I've been looking for one for a while now.

I have to agree, Socialist Steve isn't getting the transfer and is pouting and stamping his feet.
I wonder what failure is next for Socialist Steve?

I got the impression from his earlier posts about it that the job with the police department was being threatened, not that he wanted it.
He's been on light duty at the sewer plant from virtually the day he started, doing nothing but surfing the internet and working on his case for a disability pension.
The city was holding out the possibility of a job with the police that would require some kind of work that his delicate condition would allow.
Steve Dawes wants no work of any description.
-
Why was that posted in the Breaking News Forum? and why not put it in the State Forum?
-
Just when you think he couldn't dive the USS Dawes deeper into the Marianas Trench.

Hell--he's making the Trench deeper!

That very well could be, rather than my first speculation.
I tried to think of what would be an easier, softer, cushier job with the police department, as compared with working in the waterworks, and came up dry.
So now I'm thinking maybe the big guy is doing this deliberately, so as to not get transferred.
He wants out of the waterworks too, though, and probably isn't willing to settle for anything other than spending the rest of his life on the disability gravy-train, a first-class ticket in the parlor car paid for by the taxpayers of Omaha.
-
He had a fight at work and was removed as union steward. He wants out of the sewage plant.

By the way, these are the current issues in Bellevue.
One wonders why the big guy isn't giving a position on them:
Mayor Rita Sanders broke a tied vote Monday night to give residents of Quail Creek a 100-foot buffer zone between their neighborhood and any new development that might be built to their south.
The council deadlocked 3-3 over whether sacrificing the 100-foot-deep, 1,360-foot-long stretch of city-owned land would cost the city as much as $100,000 when housing developers buy the land.
Councilman Dave Sanborn also feared the buffer would set a precedent other neighborhoods would demand in the future.
Supporters, however, having described for some months the approximately 3-acre strip of land as a buffer, discarded that description Monday.
Councilman Don Preister, who proposed the amendment creating the buffer, said the land was primarily a connector between a park in the west and a park in the east.
Without the buffer, he said, the two areas would be stranded from each other. With the buffer, a continuous regional park could be created that would enhance the value of neighboring properties, thus contributing more to city coffers than the $100,000 that would be lost selling the land to developers.
He also argued creation of such a contiguous park was in line with the city's overall parks plan.
Councilmembers Carol Blood and Scott Houghtaling joined Preister to force a 3-3 tie, which Sanders broke in favor of Quail Creek residents.
On a final vote, Preister's amendment having passed, Councilwoman Kathy Saniuk joined the majority to make it a 4-2 approval.
In other business, the council:
Y Delayed a decision on allowing Bellevue attorney Dean Jungers to erect a billboard at 2005 Galvin Road S.
Y Granted permisson to Splash Pads for Bellevue to conduct an engraved-brick fundraising campaign aimed at raising money to build splash pads in Bellevue.
Y Voted unanimously to grant the city's right-of-way mowing contract to Neon Green, the current contractor, despite recommendations from city staff that it be given to a competing company.
Plus the Bellevue city council denied a permit for a circus to appear on the campus of Bellevue University (a privately-owned college).
Surely the big guy can tell us what he thinks about the circus.
Nothing in the newspaper yet about any "candidates' night," although surely Bellevue has one, as do most cities, towns, and villages in Nebraska.

The animals usually have to come off the train and walk in parade formation to the location of the circus. That is a complete and total PIA for the city. If there wasn't a safe route for this, or the circus is just not a reputable one I would have no problem with a city councilor voting no to the permit. I am sure there are a host of other assurances the circus must provide to secure a permit, which may have not been met.
-
Well, I think the big guy needs to post his stance on this issue, pro or con, on his lesser web-site, the one Charlene made for him.

Tuesday.
Mike will be at the Bellevue Senior Community Center tomorrow as part of their "Coffee with the Candidates" event--and, before the BSCC event, he will be interviewed by KETV NewsWatch 7 (interview to air on 4/18). Tomorrow is a busy day--stay tuned for details on the KETV airing!

I am sniffing a major league scam here. He hasn't posted a picture of his signs yet. I do believe this is all a farce and this jackass milked the DU misfits for over $1K.

I wonder if the big guy had them printed, and they're being held C.O.D., payment upon delivery.
And he was counting on his fund-raiser to pay for that.
It looks as if his union pals at Goldenrod Printing in Lincoln got stiffed.

Frank does voting in favor of that buffer zone have anything to do with the eminent domain thing OS is supporting for the gas pipeline talked about in another thread?

No.
That's all stuff inside the city of Bellevue.
And it has nothing to do with natural gas in Bellevue.
What the big guy's upset about is something else, where the city of Bellevue is unwilling to buy properties outside the city of Bellevue.
A wholly different issue.

Ahh. Ok thanks for the clarification.

Ahh. Ok thanks for the clarification.
There's a whole banquet of issues for the people of Bellevue.
Thus far it seems as if only three of the four candidates for that particular seat on the city council have addressed them.
In the meantime, you got the big guy talking about things over which the local city council has no control.
Damn.
Is the big guy for the circus, or against the circus?
Is the big guy for the city mowing contract, or against the city mowing contract?
Is the big guy for the billboard, or against the billboard?
Where are the big guy's much-touted yard-signs?
&c., &c., &c.
The big guy should've paid attention to the advice and counsel of franksolich last autumn.
But n-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o.....

Aww c'mon now frank...you know the big guy is a big picture kinda guy...he'll have "people" to take care of such detail oriented issues like the ones that you mentioned. :)
Which of course is the big guy's downfall.
He imagines himself as the man with the vision, but really, he's rather visually-impaired.
He's the man with the dream, but it's turned into a nightmare.
One feels for the (L) candidate, who seems to want the job most of all, who seems to be working the hardest at trying to get it. The incumbent (R), chairman of the city council, wants it too, of course. The second (R), the former city employee, seems to be off the radar.
And of course the big guy's in another universe, not even close.
It's too bad about the (L) candidate, but damn it, if he were an (R), I could very well see a November match-up between him and the incumbent, making for a good race, two excellent candidates. But his third-party dreams work against him. One hopes however that he at least comes in third, leaving the big guy in the dust.

He seems determined to piss off every possible voting demographic, then when he inevitably loses the election, he'll undoubtedly blame it on election fraud and a big conspiracy against him.

No responses.

And remember, kids--he also said he has a huge announcement on the 14th! Only 24 hours to the big day!

Quote from franksolich...
"I tried to think of what would be an easier, softer, cushier job with the police department, as compared with working in the waterworks, and came up dry."
An instant classic.

He missed the meet-and-greet with the seniors? Seniors always vote. And they do not like being blown off. Knucklehead. If I were a donor on Skin's Island, and were lurking and here and read that, I would naturally think *scammed.* He's not a serious candidate. He took my money!

Missing the senior center candidate's coffee is the equivalent of political suicide.

Big mistake to snub the old folks' candidate night, but they're probably a bunch of retired military and other rich white people. No dem votes there.
The big guy needs to appear before the Bellevue Urban League, the Bellevue PETA chapter, the Bellevue Black Panther Party, and the Bellevue Socialist Workers League. That's the core of his, and Mumia's, support.
If the big guy actually attends a candidates' night sponsored by some other civic organization, that would be far more interesting than his dismal Big Bear's Bar Blowout. If there is one, it would more likely be later, just a few days before the election.
And here sits the big hairy DUfus, with his campaign warchest depleted by those garish, obnoxious, illiterate flyers sent weeks before anyone even knew there was an election.
Maybe the Sarpy County democrat party, assuming there actually is such an organization, will take mercy and give him a few yard signs.

Just a reminder to all:
Tomorrow, Saturday, April 14, is the Democrat caucuses in Nebraska.
I dunno why they're bothering having them this year, as their candidate's already decided upon.
But the big guy is going anyway, and promised us that's the day he launches his big issue.
I dunno what it could possibly be. That he's supporting the Magic One for re-election? That he favors nationalization of the Tennessee Valley Authority? That he thinks the mummy guy in Philadelphia should be freed? That he favors collective agriculture in Tanzania? That he supports one big international labor union? That he thinks the American Numismatic Society should be disbanded?
Whatever it is, the odds are it's not of any interest to the voters in Bellevue.
Watch for his report tomorrow on Skins's island.

What does one think the big guy's big issue's going to be?
A good guess, I think, is that the big guy's going to propose cuts in the federal defense budget.
I mean, he really knows how to pick the issues for a city council race.

Today's the day !
Right; the day of the Nebraska Democrat caucuses, when the big guy's promised to launch something big.
Up here on the roof of Nebraska, Democrats from six counties had to agree to meet in one place--I think O'Neill, but it might be somewhere else--which is going to demand some real travel time, and travel with the 0bamagasoline prices isn't cheap anymore.
It'll be the same thing as what happened four years ago.
The newspapers interviewed the Democrat county chairman of one of the Sandhills counties about his caucus that spring, asking how it went. He reported the totals, but said it didn't make much difference, because everybody, including himself, was going to vote for McCain that November anyway.

So tell me how he would know about anything going on down there with a belly that big, poor man may have not seen his own dick in years due to the belly over lap. May take 3 men and a boy to lift up that overhang so a doctor can check that his manhood has not turned green, got lumps and bumps on it. From the picture I saw of him, I have to guess that he can walk on a beach bare naked and not get arrested as both back and front are well covered in hanging flesh.

If the big guy's looking out for things damaging to his image and reputation, he should be worried, really worried, about his DU journal always showing up on the first page of a nadin "search," and probably ask Skins to delete it for him.

Sorry Frank but I have sat on the dunes over looking the nude beaches and seen some Odd sighs, fat men walking little dogs on a leash and even with the best binoculars not been able to see one darn thing front or back. They may as well be wearing short skirts as their flesh hung so low.
Sorry Frank but females do on occasion head out to sit on the sand dunes looking and comparing the bodies of naked men.
Ask any woman when they go to Europe what is the first thing they look at when they see the Statue of David, many walk away shaking their head as they realise their children were born better hung then this full grown Adult.

vesta,
You know that statue was purposely carved by it's artist to be out of normal proportion ? A part of art is to highlight aspects of the medium that the artist expresses to the viewer and promotes the artist's point of view. They use artistic techniques to make a statement. The area you fixate on is maybe not the area the artist wanted to speak from.
