Rick Santorum abruptly suspended his White House campaign Tuesday, clearing the way for front-runner Mitt Romney to claim the Republican presidential nomination.
The former Pennsylvania senator made the announcement at a news conference Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Santorum significantly lagged Mr. Romney in the nominating contest and faced an increasingly hard challenge in winning the GOP primary in his home state of Pennsylvania, which votes later this month.
"We made a decision to get into this race at our kitchen table and against all the odds. And we made a decision over the weekend that while this presidential race for us is over, for me...we are not done fighting," Mr. Santorum said.

:banghead:

He never had a chance with the MSM stomping him at every chance, plus a bit of religious nuttiness.

:banghead:
Yeah me too. :banghead:

It is sad to see him go, but he really didn't have a chance. He wants the VP appointment, so maybe he will get that. I do feel sorry for his daughter. That would be a tough thing to deal with.

I just looked Bella up. What a doll! She looks so much like him!

I've always said that Santorum would make an awesome Attorney General.

He would probably be a awesome AG. His religious faith would be a roadblock to confirmation from the left though.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing Santorum as Attorney General. He would be better than that hypicritical, douchebag, Holder. That is for sure.

He could point out the different failings of his predecessor (the one who is there now) in his confirmation hearings, though. Think of the airing of the Hate of the Left that would occur! :hyper: :-) O-)

If you thought the left hated Ashcroft, imagine what would happen if Santorum got the job.
Stock up on

Would not make any difference after Romney wins the Presidency and Repubs win a majority in the Senate. The Repubs could tell the Democrats we won.... now sit down and go to the back of the bus like Pisslosi told House Repubs in 08.
Rick would make a great AG

anyone would be better than Holder, sheesh! He is a waste.

I was sorry to see him suspend the campaign. Someone had to hold Mitt's feet to the fire. The energy has just gone out of the race.
