I want to buy a horse
It has been my lifelong dream, and I'd like to also raise a few goats, too. How much land do you need to do something like that? I live in the South, and it isn't as though rural life is unknown to me.
Seriously, if there is someone in the South that can help me out, I'd appreciate it. I have a lot of planning, and I know it is physically intensive. I just need some ideas with the planning part to make sure that I do the best I can for the animals in my care.

First, it would be a good idea to move out of the trailer park.
DUmmy Aerows is the DUmp Einstein who worried about the price of eggs during a drought, since thirsty chickens lay fewer eggs.
At least the inspiration comes from "War Horse", not "Lion King". A horse won't eat the neighbors.

I am extremely serious about this, and it is helpful to have advice.
Horses ARE intelligent, and I will need to keep that in mind.
Compared to DUmmy Aerows, horses are smarter than hell.

9. More info please. I'm fairly certain that buying the horse is not the dream.
What do you want to do with the horse? How much disposable income do you have? how much time do you have? Are you willing to never leave your farm again? How old are you (horses live 25 - 30 years or more)?
Goats are really easy.
I've been around horses goats and other livestock most of my life. My sister was a well known trainer.
Whoa! A farm! Another obstacle.
DUmmy Aerows is thinking more along the lines of tying the horse behind the the single-wide, to a really big doghouse.

That's an awfully big responsibility to take on, it's not like you just say you want to own a horse and goats and then you go out and get them.

Yeah horses are intelligent, like intelligent kids - meaning they can do amazingly dumb stuff that can get them killed in all sorts of surprising and unpredictable ways.
Hey aerows, think of it as a walking swimming pool that craps a lot. You know what a swimming pool is, right? - a hole in the ground into which you pour money every month...

Sounds like one of the rescues is going to have to take in a horse sometime soon when this DUmmy realizes that it will have to leave the basement at some point to take care of it. :banghead:

Whoa, there Tucker. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Let's see if Bent Arrow primitive can handle a pet rock first, chia pets have to be watered, y'know.
