When Jimi played the National Anthem...

...at Woodstock he did it as a veteran (Army Airborne).

When Ted Nugent did it in 2009 on FOX Noise, at the Alamo with Glenn Beck, he did so as someone who left shit in his pants for a week to get out of going to Vietnam.

Tell this to your RW family members and friends but be prepared for head explosions...lol.

just sayin'

Oh my god...they found our weak spot. The one place where, if they probe, our entire philosophy falls to pieces.  (http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002530205)

Yeah, DUmbass, last time I was with my 70 year old parents, we discussed JIMI HENDRIX for a couple of hours, and how he ****in' SHREDDED that national anthem at Woodstock, mannnnnnnnnnnnn. Then my 65 year old uncle started into some bullshit about how the Nuge could out-shred Jimi any day, and my 9 year old daughter called bullshit and said, like, that Ritchie Blackmore could hack better than the Nuge, and everyone knows that Jimi was, like, WAY better than Blackmore.

Some of the liveliest discussions we ever have, in fact, are around the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner tables, when one of my aunts mentions she was rockin' the **** out to some Dio, and then we head right into a long dissertation about Eddie vs Ygnwie. Good times.

If anyone ever points out that Jimi served in the military...holy shit. We are doomed.

Hendrix was discharged after serving only 13 monts of a three-year enlistment and never saw a day in Vietnam.

From the reports of his commanding officers and fellow soldiers, he sounds like your typical liberal... lazy and useless.

I copied this comment from a link....

According to this story, he made up all kinds of bullshit for magazine interviews, but he was classified as 1-Y (student deferment):

If I remember correctly 1-Y meant you had some sort of mild or minor physical problem that kept you from meeting the minimum physical standards at that time but might subject you to the draft at a later date if the standards were lowered.

....2-S was a college student deferment.

Jimmy Carter forgave all the draft dodgers....and upgraded John Kerry's discharge.

...and upgraded John Kerry's discharge....to cureable by penicillin. :-)

"You're very, very pro the troops and I get that," Morgan told Nugent. "But you, yourself, I mean, you dodged the draft."

Nugent replied that he was happy to clear up the matter for "the ten millionth time," stating "I did not dodge the draft. I was 17 and I was a clueless idiot."

Nugent went on to explain that he was enrolled in a community college at the time and had a 1-Y deferment. 1-Y classification -- which has since been eliminated -- was given to men deemed qualified for military service only in times of national emergency. 1-Y deferment was abolished in 1971.

"Did I register? I registered. Did I volunteer? No. Should I have? Yes."

When Morgan asked if the Ted Nugent of today would serve his country in Vietnam, Nugent said he would, telling the CNN host "There is no nobler sacrifice, none. But you have to be wise enough, knowledgeable enough to make such a noble decision. And I was incapable of both at that age.

Let's also keep in mind that Nugent at 17 - long hair, bad attitude, probably a drunk or a druggie, guitar-obsessed, and just generally skanky - describes DUmmy dudes perfectly at EVERY age.

Yep, that's what I've read, too. He was a chronic ****-up. If he was sent into a war zone he probably would've gotten some people killed.

Like most sane people do.  I used to do drugs & vote Democrat.  But there's a time & a place for that called college.  Then you grow the **** up.

Actually, he's stated many times he's only drank once and never done drugs. I haven't heard anyone talk about him being a party animal, through substances. He's said the only thing he was addicted to was women.
