After eleven innings and an Alex Avila home run, the Boston Red Sox are still winless, losing their third straight game of the young season by a final score of 13-12.
Let's look at that 9th and 11th inning--2/3 of an inning. 6 hits. 6 earned runs. 2 blown saves.
Oh, and Yankee fan, don't laugh. But at least you can take solace in the last time you started 0-3 you won the Series (1998). Sox fans? Not so much.

...and take the rest of "professional" sports with ya!
:fuelfire:

IIRC, the Red Sawks got swept last year by the Rangers in the opening series and then melted down in September. Here's hoping it holds to form again this year!
-
Well, both the Sawx and the Yankmees ended their desperation last night.
And, go figure . . . the only undefeated team in MLB is . . . the New York Mets! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
I know it won't last, but wins in April count just as much as they do in August and September . . .

yeah...undefeated thanks to my winless Braves. If they don't beat the stinking Astros tonight I'm boycotting the rest of the season.....
I say that...but I'll still watch every night as usual :)

Thanks to Dillon Gee's pitching performance last night, the Mets now have a loss. Oh well--at least Santana's lifetime record against the Nats is 6-2 . . .

I've been pretty happy with the way the Red Sox have been able to turn it around ( 9 games into the season).
Today was not so successful, but a nice effort from Bard.
Not quite sure what to make of Bobby V's comments re Youk though. Perhaps his comments are warranted considering last year's collapse.
-
And Valentine apologizes. Not even 10 games into the season and the players are already walking over him.
And meanwhile, the Angels are teh suck. Jesus, even Manny could beat his wife once in a while--these guys? Nada. Flatline.

I could never remember who had the red, and who had the white stockings. Then I came up with the abbreviation of Boston, Bo, to go with red... Bored. A lot like their play style. No offense, just a mnemonic.

Nice to see Tommy Hanson of the Braves throw five straight curveballs to Ike Davis last night.
Nice to see the last one wind up 400 feet away. :yahoo:
And, Jason Bay hit his second HR of the season--opposite field, even. Not good for those pitching against him.

Bosox lost to Chisox yesterday. First game I'd been to in over 25 years.

Whites beat reds, but let's not make it racist.
